When shopping in Pennsylvania with the lovely Yvonne of StoneGable last week,
we spent lots of time in a booth with great architectural pieces.
Some were repurposed, some in their original state, their original beauty.
Yvonne picked up a pair of brackets, then at the last minute
she decided to purchase a different set of brackets;
therefore, her brackets went into my “buy bin.”
I was not exactly certain of what I was going to do with them; however, for now
they found a home in the dining room.
The brackets could be used in many ways, for example in a doorway
or as brackets for a shelf.
I can just imagine these gingerbread brackets being on a beautiful Victorian “Pink Lady”
I had these beautiful tole sconces on my shutters in the dining room.
Like many things around this house, things tend to move about and then sometimes
find its way back. I am on the hunt for something to place above these brackets.
On the hunt for something different . . . something other than a plate.
Maybe I will have luck at the Lucketts Spring Market, or the barn sale,
or Rust and Feathers as I will be visiting that area soon.
This will be an area that I will be tweaking; however, in the meantime
I will be enjoying my vintage gingerbread brackets with the happy bouquets of flowers
as its crowning glory!
Have a great day and hope you had a great Cinco de Mayo!

Shirley,
I love the gorgeous patina on those vintage brackets. I also love how you used them between your hutch with the vintage sconces above them.
We am heading up to PA this weekend to visit family and will definitely be stopping by Bedford Street Antiques in Carlisle and Antique Marketplace in Lemoyne. Not sure I will be finding much Ironstone after I saw the over 500+ pieces that Marion (MMS) is brining to the Lucketts Spring Market. I think she might have cleaned out all the Ironstone in PA…ha!
Shirley those sconces are so gorgeous with the toile flowers!! Lovely, and also the bracket is very interesting!

You always find such great treasures. I love the brackets and they look good. I bet you had lots of fun shopping in PA.
Maybe when I visit Roanoke you will be in the area and we can meet, I would love that.
Have a terrific weekend.
You asked how I am – I am feeling fine and busy with my gardens trying to figure out how I am going to keep them alive this summer.

Those brackets remind me so much of our trip to Martha’s Vineyard. Jeff and I visited Oak Bluffs where they have hundreds of Campground Cottages painted in vibrant colors. It’s a Victorian, Gingerbread heaven. A must see!

Hi Shirley, I love anything architectural salvage and your brackets are wonderful! The toile sconces are fabulous too.

The brackets look good beside your hutch. Just the right patina on them…..they look good with your shutters in this room.
Love, love, love the design of the brackets and the patches of original paint. We would have had a little tug of war going on in that booth if I had been there!! :-))
