How Texture Makes the Difference in Your Decor/ Vignette

Combining textures in a vignette always lend for a prettier and more interesting look.

Whether the vignette be in a bookcase, on a table or any other setting,

the combination of many types of textures is always the key.

Fireplace Hearth Vignette-Housepitality Designs

I love creating a vignette on my fireplace hearth.

Each vignette created according to season or holiday.

This particular vignette originally did not have this pretty cherry box nestled in it.

This box was another purchase from the estate sale for $12.00.

Vintage Cherry Box-Housepitality Designs

I found this box underneath a table among lots of other accessories.

It quickly got taken off the floor and into my arms!

I love that the box had the monogrammed plaque.

When I opened it, I discovered that it was a jewelry box.

Three different textures . . . three different colors.

When you see the entire fireplace area you can see more color and textures

of wood, iron, ceramic, and stone.

They are all so happy together.

Have a most wonderful day!

I’ve been searching for a tray to use on the chest in our great room. I’ve found a few that I really like but they haven’t been level inside, so anything I place in it will wobble. I’m still hunting! You did good at the estate sale, such a pretty jewelry box.
    Blessings,

Yes, I love mixing textures. Woven baskets add such warmth to a vignette and just seem to tie everything together so nicely!

Texture is something many do not think about, at least not consciously, but it’s key in decorating. You nailed it, as always.
