Well, I am about to prove that song wrong
as there IS a cure for the Summertime Blues.
Just add the beautiful blues in your decor!
From the soft blues of sea glass, to the awesome color of Carolina Blue,
to the vibrant hues of navy and the Williamsburg blue that many of us loved years ago.
This summer, I am adding more blues to coordinate with yellows and greens
and a little black thrown in-between.
When I saw this pillow at Pottery Barn, I knew it was perfect.
Perfect to coordinate with the vintage grain sack that I purchased a couple of years ago
from the High Point Market.
Prior to purchasing the pillows, I changed out the plates on the wall
from a floral basket pattern of mainly brown tones
to these pretty blue and white floral patterned plates by Ralph Lauren.
The Ralph Lauren plates were purchased about a year ago from HomeGoods.
I can see this grain sack transforming into a couple of pillows in the future.
Linda, you have formally been put on alert!
My walls are a butter yellow (Sherwin Williams Blonde to be exact).
I love the combination of the blue and yellow.
Blue and yellow was my dear friend Ruth’s favorite color scheme, along with blue and white.
In the days of when many of us switched from the Williamsburg or Cornflower blues,
she did not do that . . . she stuck to her love of the blues, yellows and white.
Not giving into the trends.
I know she is looking down with approval. Giving me the two wings up.
I miss her.
I bought a pair of the these pretty blue paisley pillows from Pottery Barn.
One for the antique bench and one to place on the vintage chair in the foyer
that will give those who enter my home a feel of the summer colors that I have chosen.
So, do you agree?
For there IS a cure for the Summertime Blues!…Just go with them!!
Have a beautiful day! Making your own kind of music . . . singing your own special song.
