How did I strike gold? . . . Well. . . I did not REALLY strike gold,
not sure that gold is in the hills of North Carolina.
However, I did strike a deal on beautiful gold and crystal sconces.
So when you find a deal, you feel like you have struck gold!
While browsing through an antique mall in Virginia last month,
I spied something shiny and twinkly.
Have you spotted that beauty yet?
I paired the gold and crystal sconce with a gold framed mirror
that I purchased several years ago at a frame warehouse sale . . . They were one dollar each!
I purchased 5 of them….should have bought a dozen!
The owner of the antique booth was there that day fluffing and adding merchandise.
She stated that the sconces were vintage. I am not an expert on these types of items
so I shall take her word for it. Actually if they weren’t I would have bought them anyway!
I originally had a full length mirror in this space and it moved across the room.
I also had these sconces in another area of the room;
however, I decided they looked the best flanking the bay window.
For a total of $22.00, including the mirrors
I was able to add more gold to the room . . . more bling too!
A few more changes and the room will be ready for the “summer look”
Keeping with the theme of Summertime Blues.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend
making your own kind of music, singing your own special song.
And just maybe humming along to the tune of Summertime Blues.
