it's all about the hospitable home

Summer Home Tour 2015 with bHome Bloggers and a Great Giveaway!

Finally, after all of the sneak peek posts, I can present my Summer Home Tour to you.

I am partying with a great group of bloggers from the bHome Mobile App Community.

Where 31 bHome bloggers are presenting their Summer Home Tours and inspiration this week

along with a great giveaway of a $200 gift card

from bHome and Painted Fox Treasures. See below for details.

So WELCOME to my SUMMER HOUSE!

Summer Home Tour 2015/Guest Room-Housepitality Designs

A peek of the guest room for now!

Let’s start at the front porch.

Where you will see it decorated for Flag Day and will take on a similar look on the 4th of July.

Summer Porch/Flag Day-Housepitality Designs

Upon entering my home you will see my treasured French antique buffet.

Antique French Buffet-Housepitality Designs

Vintage fishing floats and starfish add a summer feel to the foyer.

Antique French Buffet-Housepitality Designs

Just a few touches of the sea brings the vignette into summer.

Vintage Ironstone Foot Bath-Housepitality Designs

Around the corner is a vintage settee.

Vintage Split Oak Settee-Housepitality Designs

Adding my Summertime blues with Pottery Barn pillows, a grain sack

and vintage children’s books.

The great room underwent some summerizing with vintage fishing floats,

seaglass, a demijohn to tie in with the glass.

Summer Vignette-Housepitality Designs

Summer Vignette-Housepitality Designs

Summer Vignette-Housepitality Designs

And we cannot omit the coral of the sea . . .

well the faux coral that is.

Summer Vignette/Great Room-Housepitality Designs

Here and there:

Summer Home Tour-Great Room Table-Housepitality Designs

I found a piece of faux coral on a lucite stand at the Pottery Barn Outlet

that goes so well with the Drexel Heritage Mother of Pearl lamp that also has a similar base.

The sunroom received a fresh summer citrus theme.

I removed the bold red pillows in the sunroom and replaced them with softer colors

of blues, yellow and greens.

Vintage Colander-Housepitality Designs

My inspiration came from this vintage colander and the citrus themed Pottery Barn pillow.

Sunroom for Summer-Housepitality Designs

Even though I use lots of red accents in the sunroom,

I shall leave these colors in the sunroom until fall as they are so refreshing.

Sunroom for Summer-Housepitality Designs

Sunroom for Summer-Housepitality Designs

A little area that is great to “take five” and recharge.

Next to the sunroom is the kitchen that I do not photograph much

as the light is not all that great, either too dark or too much light . . . I know . . .

Kitchen-Housepitality Designs

I try not to turn the lights on when photographing to avoid the “yellow cast” it throws.

Kitchen Chalkboard Chef-Housepitality Designs

I did turn the lights on for this pic as I wanted you to see the kitchen chalkboard chef.

It has been really hot here these past couple of days . . . my iPhone sends me weather alerts.

Today is was sending: Heat Advisory in effect!! No kidding!! . . . the heat index yesterday was 106!

At least there is a breeze . . . a hot breeze!

Kitchen/Dining Room-Housepitality Designs

I filled the hurricane that sits on top of a stack of recipe books with sea glass

to coordinate with the colors used in the sunroom.

I also changed up my kitchen counters a bit . . . adding some more ironstone

and taking away my fruit themed canisters that I have had for years. My sister is waiting for them!!

Kitchen-Housepitality Designs

While this looks like I have a galley kitchen, it really is not.

Just wanted to give you a look from one side of the kitchen into the dining room

to give you a sense of the way the kitchen, sunroom and dining room flow together.

I am giving you a sneak peek of my summer tablescape as it is still a work in progress.

Summer Tablescape-Housepitalty Designs

Since the dining room is so very close to the sunroom, I decided to coordinate the two spaces.

Now on to the Master Bedroom.

I changed out the bedding to the blue and white bedding that was previously used last year.

Master Bedroom Bedding-Housepitality Designs

Everything is the same as it was before with the exception of the throw pillows.

All from Pottery Barn and I love the faux coral crewel pillow

that I snagged from the Master Bathroom.

Master Bedroom for Summer-Housepitality Designs

I know my family loves this color scheme of orange and blue . . . we are all Gator Fans. Go Gators.

I added the oranges/peaches to the color scheme of this room to coordinate with my peach of a sofa.

Master Bedroom-Housepitality Designs

Now the bedding in the master bedroom coordinates with the guest room with the blue and white theme.

But before I show you the guest room, I will show you the pillow I purchased at

French Laundry Home specifically for the bathroom chair.

Master Bath Chair-Housepitality Designs

When I saw this pillow at FLH, I knew that it would be the perfect one

for the chair in the master bath. Loved the colors and pattern of the coral print.

Master Bath-Housepitality Designs

I must say that the Master Bath is always a bright and sunny room.

I did some changes in this room for the summer and I will post details soon.

Shall we move to the other floor of the house?

Let’s start with the media room.

Where I love to decorate this room in an Americana theme.

Media Room-Housepitality Designs

Love this flag pillow from Pottery Barn . . . a great size for this large conversational sofa.

Media Room-Housepitality Designs

This is another room where I rarely photograph . . . as the lighting in this room

is not consistent. It is truly a comfy room.

Media Room Mantel-Housepitality Designs

I have fun decorating this mantel in the media room . . .

Media Room-Housepitality Designs

I can be a bit more whimsical in this room.

A room that we celebrate our country with my Americana folk art and vintage items.

Media Room-Housepitality Designs

A mantel where I feel comfortable hanging a cute banner from.

Next to the media room is the guest room suite.

Guest Room-Housepitality Designs

A room where this great chippy bench greets you with a great grain sack material pillow

that was purchased also from French Laundry Home.

In the South, summer decor isn’t summer decor without a bit of cotton.

Cotton Arrangement-Housepitality Designs

I was gifted this cotton arrangement from my friend Kristen a few years ago.

I have added a few stems of the cotton boles and love to use it in my summer decor.

Guest Room-Housepitality Designs

I have a few projects in store for this room and hope to get to them soon,

but in the meantime, I try to make the room a home away from home for my guests.

Speaking of projects, I have a little one for the upper back porch in progress.

Upper Back Porch Tea Cart-Housepitality Designs

However, it truly has been warm here and I am limiting my projects to indoors!

I did manage to have this hanging reproduction fishing float hung over my tea cart on the porch.

Bringing more blues to the porch too!

Hope you enjoyed my Summer Home Tour and the other home tours for today are listed below

along with the Monday and Tuesday tours.  They are all filled with great summer inspiration!

Now time to talk about the giveaway!

I have been following you for a while now….but not for “real”. I’ve been finding you on other bloggers I follow, i.e. Stone Gable and Savvy Southern Style..NOW is the time. I want to come to my computer or phone and see your fun and beauty. You truly are gifted. Between the three of you, we are in the same boat. Our loves, I mean. Would you please share the color of your main living ares paint color?? Also, master bedroom. We’ve had what appears to be a bit of a yellow/gold pain for several years. Summer is here and I can’t deal with it again. Needs to be lightened. You know what it takes to settle on a paint color. Thank you so much if you can and I can now look forward to your daily blog..Lynda Land

I love the blues and yellows of your guest room. So fresh and crisp! As well as the blues and corals of your master. It must be wonderful to wake up in that majestic room!!! I’m so glad you showed the kitchen with the sunroom. I’ve never seen that perspective! I think I would get little done if I had a sunroom like that in my home! Hugs to you dear friend!
