Just a short post to wish the dads in your life a most wonderful Father’s Day.
I am blessed to have a hubby who has been the most wonderful husband, father and “Pop”
“It makes my heart happy” to see the beautiful relationship that my son has with his daughter
and the relationship of my hubby and his precious granddaughter and son.
They all adore each other.
It’s what life is all about . . . family.
My son, precious granddaughter and hubby.
And for the past 23 years, Father’s Day has been bittersweet, as I lost my dad 23 years ago.
It doesn’t seem like that long. I guess it is because we keep him alive in our hearts.
I love this old faded photo of him as I know how much he loved his country.
He taught me so much . . . his main emphasis was to live our lives
with the utmost integrity and commitment,
to put the love of family above all else. I miss him terribly.
And I leave you with this poem my son wrote on a Father’s Day card many, many years ago.
“Everyone comes to share you
you help them
and you help me.
You teach them
and you teach me.
You listen to them
and you listen to me
You laugh with them
and you laugh with me.
Everyone loves and respects you
but I love and respect you the most
because I am part of you
and you are part of me.
Everyone calls you Coach
but I can call you Dad!”
I wish you all a most wonderful day with the special dads in your life.
