it's all about the hospitable home

Outdoor Spaces of the Southern Living 2015 Idea House

For my last post of the Southern Living Idea House, I decided to show the outdoor spaces

which are my favorite.

While the interiors were beautiful, I think it definitely appealed to a certain segment

of the population, leaning more toward a very traditional yet updated style.

Which also lended to the feel of the area that the home was located.

I will start off with one of my favorite things that was outdoors in the breezeway between

the house and the garage.

The potting sink is made of Alberene Soapstone on a custom metal stand.

This is the largest of the screen porch areas.

Has a great space to accommodate a large gathering.

looking onto the lower level open deck and  the larger of the  screened porches.

I think I could sit out here for hours at a time looking at this beautiful view from the deck

If you ask me what I love the best about this home,

I would say the great floor plan, architectural details and the most magnificent views.

I love the sink. The view is incredible and it is one of those houses I could easily bring my clothes and my pets and be content.

I sure DO agree, the house is gorgeous and the views are TDF!!! I would be sitting right there with you on that magnificent patio and when it got too hot we could sit on the screened porch!!! What a DREAM home. I think there is a tin roof, right? Joe always wanted one, I was just afraid it would be noisy in the rain:) LOVE the breezeway area. All the copper outdoor lighting is beautiful. I’ll have to check and see if you mentioned where it is from. I wonder if it is coated or will turn color. LOVE this home!!!!

I’ve really loved this series. As much as I adored the interior, the outdoor spaces of this house are just as beautiful, and they are so practical. Thanks for bringing it to life with your words and photography.
