it's all about the hospitable home

How to Create a Guest Bath Concierge

How to create a guest bath concierge?

why you use the Lady Baltimore, an NQV (Not Quite Vintage) overnight vanity suitcase/train case.

It was something that I always wanted as a child.

You know, for those sleepovers.

However, I never had one and usually placed my clothes in a tote bag

that was most likely made by my mom.

Guest Bath-Housepitality Designs

When my mother-in-law passed away, I was going through her closet to determine

what to keep and what to donate.

I then discovered this vanity suitcase, or train case as some would call it.

And it was the Lady Baltimore

that very same one I had wanted!

Guest Bath/Vintage Train Case-Housepitality Designs

I have had this in a closet for years now

not quite knowing what I was going to do with it.

The other day when I was looking for something in the guest room closet,

I spied this suitcase and pulled it out and really wanted to display it.

It was then I had an epiphany!

This case’s purpose is to fill it with all of your toiletry/makeup items.

So why not do something like that and fill it with toiletry items that your guests may have forgotten.

A sort of Guest Bath Concierge.

Filled with many of life’s necessities and I placed a box of tissue in the bottom of the case

and pulled the tissue forward for easy access.

So for now, this case will contain whatever my guest may have forgotten.

Now if I can only find some great bath robes!

Have a wonderful day and

“Don’t count the days, make the day count!!”

Shirley, this is genius! What a cute idea. My mother had a train case (that’s what she called it) exactly like this one and it went on every family vacation with us, filled with all our toiletries. How fun to see what you have done.

Perfection Shirley and so thoughtful for guests!
It is always a dilemma when supplies are sitting out in a guest bath, but you’re not really sure if you should use them! A bathrobe and hair dryer are also nice!

Hi Shirley, great way to use and display your vintage case. I need to take one of my many and do the same thing. I collect them to redo and paint for the shop. Love how yours looks in the guest bathroom.

First, I just love that you were able to realize a childhood wish, and especially that is an heirloom. And second, I adore the concierge! Now, I want a train case. ๐Ÿ™‚ I think I’ll use the makeup train case that belongs to my daughter since she doesn’t use it. And, then I’ll find some people off the street to be guests since I rarely have out of town visitors. ๐Ÿ˜‰

p.s. The art on the wall is beautiful…striking colors.

    Shirley,
What a great idea! I still have my two-piece set of white Lady Baltimore luggage my beloved aunt, Millie, bought me when I was 16 and we spent a week in Canada. I have filled it with keepsakes. I treasure it–reminds me of a wonderful person and wonderful times.

Shirley, I love your creative idea! I had the exact train case when I was about 10 or 12 and used it during my teen years and I think I took it on our honeymoon! Thanks for jogging my memory of a long forgotten and well-used Lady Baltimore! I wonder what I did with it, probably discarded like many other treasures when I was younger and not very smart!
