A Little Girl’s Room Makeover Reveal

A little girl’s room makeover reveal has been in the works for months.

We have been working on it a little at a time

working with a small budget.

So today, my little sweetie and I are revealing her room,

her space that she shares with her grandmother when we are crafting.

Let’s begin with the furniture.

Granddaughter's Room - Housepitality Designs

I bought three pieces of furniture from a friend who was selling her parents’ guest room furniture.

My friend thinks that the room/furniture/mattress was only used once.

I purchased the toy chest at the foot of the bed on my trip to France a couple years ago.

The floor mirror was originally in the master bedroom.

Can you see the reflection in the mirror? It is a sign that my friend Linda’s hubby made for me.

“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are GRAY”

Granddaughter's Room - Housepitality Designs

The hat rack was a piece that I have had for many, many years and I painted it ASCP Old White.

My friend knew the furniture was the first step in creating a space for my sweetie,

so I think that played a great part in the cost.

Granddaughter's Room

I won this beautiful pink ruffled throw in a giveaway by Janet of Shabbyfufu.

This throw also came with a pink ruffled chair cover you will see shortly.

What a fantastic win . . . perfect for my sweetie’s room.

The bedding is from Pottery Barn and I have had this bedding for a while,

so it was not a new purchase. Gray had a choice of two sets of bedding that I had in the

linen closet and she chose this set. (Pottery Barn Jocelyn Floral).

She loved the colors and the design.

I placed adhesive letters on the mirror under the supervision of Gray. She gave it a two thumbs up!

The bird cage on the dresser is a new purchase. I am on the lookout for more bargain birdcages for another

project in her room.

Whereas, this large white one was transferred from the great room ledge

to the top of this craft cabinet.

There were originally wooden knobs on the dresser and night stand.

They were replaced by beautiful octagon cut glass knobs by D. Lawless Hardware.

The other end of the room contains my or should I now say “our” craft furniture.

Craft Desk - Housepitality Designs

The craft furniture was purchased from Home Decorators Collection,

by Martha Stewart a few years ago.

Many masterpieces are created here!

And many a gift wrapped here too!

The vintage paint by number art of pink flamingos are perfect for the room.

Have you noticed the drapes and that amazing fabric!

Fabric by Minted - Housepitality Designs

It is from the great company Minted. Many of you know them from their gorgeous stationery and art.

They also provide a most fabulous selection of exquisite fabric, drapery, pillows and table linens.

I was over the moon excited when they offered to send me fabric

and I knew exactly where I wanted to use this beautiful fabric.

Drapery/pillow fabric by Minted - Housepitality Designs

This fabric is the classic cotton canvas made of 100% cotton. (A linen cotton blend is also available)

and it is remarkably soft to the touch and the quality is superb.

Craft desk/fabric my Minted - Housepitality Designs

The fabrics are designed by incredibly talented artists.

Craft Room Desk - Housepitality Designs

I was able to chose the fabric and I had my little sweetie sit in front of the computer

with all of the most wonderful choices and she picked this design.

Craft Room Desk - Housepitality Designs

The design is by the artist Phrosne Ras from Cape Town, South Africa.

Graylyn was immediately drawn to this beautiful design called Fantasy Festival.

Especially the pink . . . as in the pink in the antique Jasperware plaques

that belonged to her great grandmother.

Pink Jasperware Plaques - Housepitality Designs

When the fabric arrived, it went immediately to my friend Linda

who transformed this beautiful fabric into drapery panels and a pillow.

Little Girl's Bedroom Makeover - Housepitality Designs

This amazing fabric from Minted.com was truly the last part of the room that was awaiting completion.

But then again, a room is never done!

Thanks for stopping by and seeing and reading about my Sweetie’s new space.

It is as pretty as she is!!

Have a most wonderful day!! Making your own kind of music and singing your own special song!

Note: The gorgeous fabric was given to me by Minted.com; however, all opinions of this fabric

and how it helped transform this room beautifully are entirely and happily my own!
