Antique French Enamelware Canisters

Antique French Enamelware canisters were staring me in the face on the screen

on the computer screen that is.

In a Etsy Shop I frequent. Love at first sight.

When I saw them in person, I had to call them mine!

They were going to make a piece that I already had, a collection.

What is that saying? It takes three to make a collection.

A beautiful set of three antique French enamelware canisters made their way home to the dining room.

A few months ago, I purchased a pretty colander in the same pattern as the canisters.

So when I saw that the canisters were the exact same pattern as the colander,

I had to make them mine, to give the colander some company . . . a collection.

Do you remember this colander when I posted it a couple of months ago in a sunroom post

titled Sunroom Summer Citrus and Blues?

The colander gained a family . . . and a wonderful portion of this collection

is the gorgeous porcelain knob.

However, I must say, that I love everything about these canisters.

So happy that the “coffee” canister is part of this set.

This set sits upon a grain sack placemat that I purchased from French Laundry

several months ago.

They may not be in perfect, pristine condition, but the flaws just add so much character

and you know that they were well used and loved.

When I begin my Fall decorating, these canisters will be relocated along with the colander

to a new place where they can be a family.

And they all would live happily ever after.

Have a most wonderful weekend!

You can be glad I didn’t buy those first. πŸ™‚ If they had been red or black they might have been gone. So cool that they match the colander you already had. The family is back together.

Ooh-la-la! I am a sucker for blue and white, that’s all there is to it! And French, too! *swoon* I joke that my style is French Country-Redneck, but it really isn’t a joke. I’m Southern, and I love French Country, blue and white, and vintage (can’t really afford antiques, although I am one. Almost, lol)Thanks for something to drool over this fine August morning. Feeling just a hint of chill in the air and I’m so excited for Fall to get here soon! (so I can say ‘Happy Fall, Ya’ll’, not to mention enjoy some cooler weather. Have a good weekend!

How nice to find those canisters. They are pretty. You find a lot of treasures. I found yesterday in a mall in Siler City the largest demijohn I have ever seen and it is marked. It was only $25.00 and in great shape just dirty. Don’t it just make you do the happy dance when you find a great treasure. I thought of you because you live near this mall.
