A Vintage Fall Vignette

A vintage fall vignette was on the list to do when I found a couple of great vintage items

while shopping in Leesburg, Virgina.

The vignette started with a vintage Borden’s crate that I purchased at Rust and Feathers.

I have never seen a Borden’s Condensed Milk wooden crate before, so it had to come home with me.

I knew I wanted to incorporate it in my Fall decor.

My friend knew that my hydrangeas did not bloom this year,

so she gifted me with these gorgeous dried hydrangeas from her shrubs this year.

I was beyond thrilled.

Vintage ironstone will hold the plush velvet pumpkins. I love this color!

My granddaughter especially loves the orange one

as the stem looks like a dragon!

Vintage books for elevating, showcasing, texture and warmth.

A mini velvet pumpkin sits on top of a vintage creamer

and a vintage french book that was given to me by the cutest French antique shop owner

in Normandy, France. I remember asking him how much it was as it had no tag on it,

he smiled and said it’s for me! A great memory!

So it now sits on top the the vintage French bamboo stool.

They were meant to be together.

It was a glorious day to create a Fall vignette with temps in the high 60’s.

A pleasant surprise when I opened to the doors to the porch with my coffee in hand.

Have a most wonderful day doing the things you love

with the ones you love.

Love your dried hydrangeas and velvet pumpkins. Those two items signify fall to me. My velvet pumpkins are all piled in a big dough bowl and dried hydrangeas are in thrift shop vase with some pheasant feathers. Nothing nearly as creative as your vignettes. Need to find some well-aged books but have found that to be a little difficult.

Your vignette is wonderful! I love the plush velvet pumpkins; they look lovely with the Hydrangea blooms. The wooden crate provides such nice texture with the vignette. This is one of my favorites!

Shirley, this is so exquisite! Love your mix of bright fall colors that show off beautifully in your white ironstone pieces. The combination of so many wonderful textures…wooden crate, bamboo, old books, pretty ironstone, velvety pumpkins…is sheer perfection. All my favorites together in one gorgeous vignette!!

Such a beautiful post Shirley – love all the vignettes that you have. I woke up to rain early this morning – 4:00 a.m. and shut most of the windows so that it didn’t come in. Went back to bed and it lulled me back to sleep. We had such a delight, washing all the trees and plants. They looked like the were loving it. Clean sidewalks, as we are not allowed to wash them down due to the drought. I know that it wasn’t near enough to fill the lakes and rivers, but it was wonderful.
Have a delightful week dear friend.

Love the pumpkins Shirley. I think that is so neat that the orange one does look like a dragon. Too fun.
I don’t think I have ever seen a Borden’s crate either so that is a good find. Hope your week is going great.

I just love your Fall vignettes, Shirley! I’m going to pin these. : ) Out of my three hydrangeas two bloomed this year (I think one bloomed last year), but now at the last minute the third one is getting blooms. Too weird! I need to get out there and cut some off to bring in the house before it’s too late. Your pumpkins are adorable!
