It was time to “fall-i-fy” the foyer.
So what do I do? . . . Do I try to keep with the theme this year of keeping it simple?
Well I tried. Tried to keep most of the items that were already on the antique french buffet
and just embellish with a some touches of Fall.
I added some Fall foliage and flowers to the vintage ironstone foot bath topiary.
A vintage iron medallion leaned against the vintage ironstone foot bath
for added contrast and texture.
I purchased this iron medallion from an antique mall in Lakeland, Florida when I was
visiting Sherry from No Minimalist Here. We had great fun that day.
The vintage iron medallion actually came from a very old resort/hotel in Florida
called Chalet Suzanne. My hubby and I stayed there many years ago.
It was sad to see it go.
The chunky wood candle holders are new. Purchased them from Pottery Barn
with my rewards certificates and coupons . . . love those rewards!
Wood carved pumpkins that I have had for several years now
are the perfect fit for the chunky wood candlesticks.
Dried hydrangeas from my hydrangea bush from years past
fill the ceramic pumpkins.
My hope was to set the tone for Fall when you enter the foyer.
Happy Fall!!

Just noticed that my website was incorrect.

You have set the tone for Fall BEAUTIFULLY!!! I had to laugh though cause for the first time I did my credenza in the foyer for Fall this year and it is looking very similiar to yours!!!! I love your new candlesticks, and those wooden pumpkins are fabulous! Mine are KINDA similiar:) Have a beautiful Fall day!!!!! I am meeting Yvonne for lunch!!!!!
So pretty, Shirley! You have a lovely home and your foyer is so welcoming! Your Fall accents are perfect!
Lovely work Shirley! The iron pieces and that window are divine…
Shirley, Happy Fall! I’ve been quietly visiting your home as you’ve changed up for fall, and love it all. This foyer is very handsome, love what you’ve done with the footbath – a very nice arrangement – and the salvage piece with special meaning, even better. Keep the inspiration coming – it’s always nice.
Rita
So pretty and fallish Shirley! I love the botanicals you added to your foot bath along with your architectural salvage! Love those PB rewards certificates too 🙂
Shirley, beautifully done for Autumn and I also love the foyer area rug. You’ve probably told us where it is from, I forget though!

Stunning Fall vignette Shirley! I must admit every time I see that footbath I have serious Ironstone envy! I have yet to see one in my travels so I know they are pretty rare.
Your foyer is so pretty all for fall…..I love the iron medallion piece!!!! I never tire of seeing your basket with walking sticks….LOVE it!

Shirley, what a beautiful setting in your entry! The wooden candle stands and wooden pumpkins add great texture! A perfect vignette to welcome autumn!
You succeeded very well, making your entry fall-ish! I love every single touch. I need an ironstone foot bath! Ha! It’s on my “stalking” list! Ha! I love hou you used your regular items and just added fall touches to them.
Sheila
Beautifully layered! That French buffet is divine – gorgeous patina! It’s cherrywood, right? And when I visit one day, I might have to walk out with that footbath 🙂
Well, you *more* than fulfilled your hope of setting the tone for Fall when you enter your foyer! Gorgeous, as always!
It all looks so lovely! Love those wooden pumpkins! Certainly says fall to me! 😉
Beautiful foyer, Shirley. I love how you did the preserved wreath arrangement. Fabulous!
Looks good and very Fallish. Enjoy your week and I hope you are getting some Fall weather. We just have HOT HOT HOT weather and no relief in sight. Kinda hard to get into a Fall mood.

How pretty, Shirley! I just love that topiary and how you’ve dressed it up for Fall.
Swooning Shirley. This is one of my most favorite vignettes you have done. Just gorgeous.
Kris
Shirley, I love the arrangement and the iron medallion really topped it off. Would you be so kind to repeat what color your wall paint is and the manufacturer…seems to go with most any décor. Your home is GORGEOUS!
I just love your home. This entry vignette is very inviting and beautiful.
Got to thinking about the paint and forgot to mention that I know Chalet Suzanne and it’s lovely owners, Eric and Dee, well from many visits during the 26 years I resided in Winter Park, FL. I was saddened to learn from friends in Lake Wales that it closed in 2014. Hope someone comes in and revives this old icon from the 1930s.
The wood carved pumpkins are lovely, and definitely belong on those chunky candlesticks. The neutral colors and textural items add up to an inspired vignette perfect for autumn!
Doesn’t Kim from the former dear daisy cottage also live in Lakeland?
Just beautiful, Shirley!
JUST BEAUTIFUL……So welcoming and Fallish. You pull together beautiful vignettes with just simply pretty ideas.
Shirley, you entrance is beautiful. Jo
The fall accents in your foyer are so pretty, Shirley- very welcoming and cozy and elegant.
Very pretty Shirley! I love the side board piece you have too. It’s a gorgeous piece. While you are busy fallifying, I am decrappafying the closets LOL!
Hi Shirley! Oh, your foyer looks gorgeous! Love it all and I spy some Jadeite too! 😉 Hope you’re doing well.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉
Oh, Sherry, I’d love for you to come decorate my foyer for me!! I tend to keep the same thing there season after season after season. . . but you’ve inspired me to change things up a little. Hmmmm. . . thank you for sharing your gorgeous home!!
Oh my…I think it’s been at least 30 minutes that I’ve sat here drooling over these pics! WOW! Now I have a problem…the new French provincial buffet that I bought for $40, I can’t decide whether or not to just refinish it with stain, or paint it?! This is very beautiful, Shirley:)
Gorgeous… Love the flowers in the pumpkin…
So pretty, as always!
