I do not have a kitchen table.
We use our dining room table pretty much every day.
Our dining room is truly a room that is used more than the typical dining rooms
that are used for special occasions and holidays.
I see a trend in new homes of no formal dining rooms . . .
Just a dining area that is off the kitchen.
Being that we use our dining room table often,
I try to make a centerpiece that is easily moved if need be.
So today, I give you 4 simple Fall centerpieces.
Going with the traditional color of orange for this one:
A pumpkin in a silver trophy bowl with the added texture of grapevine,
thats sits upon a vintage tablecloth with subtle Fall colors and Fall leaves.
Based on the color and design of the vintage tablecloth,
I set forth to create 4 different looks for the table.
I decided to use my silver trophy bowl as the design in the tablecloth
has a pretty footed bowl. Mini coral roses sit on the grapevine.
This pumpkin will be the one that my sweetie and I will carve for Halloween.
I chose this one for the pretty stem.
For the second Fall centerpiece, I chose to use the same silver trophy bowl
and fill it with another traditional Fall item.
Sage!
Well, Ornamental Sage . . . it smells so lovely!!
For the next centerpiece, I grabbed my antique tool caddy.
I love that the color of the antique tool caddy is also in the vintage tablecloth.
An antique tool caddy that I purchased from a friend with the inscription:
“Made by H.N. Walker about 1894 . . . Presented to M.A.F 1934”
The antique tool caddy is filled with boo pumpkins and flowers of Fall colors.
Love the fact that this centerpiece is of an antique tool caddy
and vintage tablecloth that were once used and loved
by their original owners and now I am loving them!
For the 4th Centerpiece that I created, I wanted to really keep it simple.
Boo pumpkins, mini coral roses, and greenery in a dough bowl.
These days, I am leaning toward the simpler the better.
However, there has to be a little bit of embellishment . . . simple embellishment!
Have a great day! Hope your day is filled with simple pleasures
with a little embellishment too!

Four simple and pretty ideas. Love that tool caddy.
Love the coral roses in the vignettes, all beautiful, simple and stunning!
All so lovely!
An easy display to lift out of the way when it comes time to serve…..
Love all your centerpieces, Shirley. The silver trophy bowl looks so elegant with the mini roses and pumpkin. I also adore the tool caddy and dough trenches are a favorite of mine. The tablecloth is so versatile because it blends well with all the centerpieces. I’m with you I’m tired of complex seasonal decorating. My florist has always said it is better to use what you have and incorporate your florals and seasonal decorating into those items. You did a beautiful job!
I love your ideas!! That wreath looks fabulous around the centerpiece, never would have thought of doing that. You’re a genius!
It would be hard to choose I love them all and that tablecloth is perfect. I love vintage linens and am always pleased when I run across a new one at a flea market.
Shirley, those are all pretty! My favorite is the old tool caddy. Love the color of it against the tablecloth!
LOVE them all. I have a few tool caddies that I use all of the time. I use everything for fall and home decor just like you. I like the idea of the sage for Thanksgiving table.
I just realized I have never seen ornamental sage before, I didn’t know what it was til you told us!! I love the silver trophy bowl and those roses are TDF! The tool caddy is wonderful, such a great inscription on it!!! I love all 4!!! Have a beautiful day. We are going to wrap some things in burlap, as we may get a frost this weekend:(:( NOOOO!!!!!
All of your center pieces are so pretty. But my favorite is the first one. I have a bowl that I am going to try to do like yours. I need to find the right size pumpkin though. Thanks for the inspiration. I love the contrast do fine vs rustic. Silver bowl vs grapevine wreath. Love it. Sheila
The centerpieces are really pretty..I love them all!!!! That antique tool caddy is sooooo fabulous, the color is amazing!!! We have a dining room off our kitchen too and no eating space in the kitchen. I would like to make it more casual and less formal……

Shelia 😉
They are all lovely but my favorite is the pumpkin, wreath and trophy bowl…
Your ideas are so creative and amazing. You have such talent.
Today I am in need of some inspiration so thanks for helping me along. In regard to dining rooms, ours gets used a lot except when there’s just the two of us which in Maine isn’t often!
They are all beautiful, Shirley. I think my favorite is the one with the pumpkin in the silver bowl with wreath, That is a great looking pumpkin by the way. Love the stem!!
Simple and lovely–they are all beautiful, Shirley!
Shirley,
I love them all but I especially like the elegant silver trophy bowl and the vintage tool caddy. The silver trophy bowl can be dressed up for a more formal look and the vintage tool caddy you can use for a more informal look. Oh, and that vintage tablecloth is the icing on the cake!
I used my husbands late grandfathers old tool caddy for a Fall front porch display this year. My husband was really tickled to see me dig it out and use it for display. I filled it with pumpkins and some dried hydrangeas. He said it brought back so many memories as he remembered his grandfather carrying that old tool caddy around on his tractor.
It’s so hard to pick a favorite, I truly love them all! And I adore the coral tea roses, …beautiful, and the perfect touch to any of the four! 🙂 Rhonda
Love all your centerpieces…simple, elegant and so pretty. I also love vintage tablecloths and enjoy using them everyday.
They are all great Shirley. Love the caddy. I think Simple is the prettiest decor. Have a great rest of the week.

Shirley, love all four ! The tool caddy and vintage tablecloth are perfect together! Simple pleasures are the best!!
Love your variety of centerpieces Shirley but your antique tool caddy takes my breath away! Beautiful color, especially with your tablecloth and I love the inscription too!
Beautiful cenrtpieces, Shirley. The pumpkin in the trophy bowl is also my favorite but the teal tool caddy on that antique tablecloth is great also. You know how I love teal! I hope the broken toe is getting better and you get a chance now and then to sit down, elevate it and enjoy your fabulous surroundings!
Shirley, Your centerpieces are spot on! Oh boy… I love that tool caddy! What a prize. I can almost smell the sage! What a brilliant idea! LOVE your home and you too!
Shirley,
You have the best eye for decorating!
Thanks for the inspiration on this cool fall morning!
Happy day!

There’s something very special about that tablecloth. I know most vintage cloths are special, but this one speaks to me somehow. Perhaps it’s the colors, or the design that although is simple has, as you say, some embellishment. Whatever it is, you’re lucky to have it, and your center pieces are lovely! I have to say the box is my favorite though. How nice that the colors work so well together.
Enjoy your weekend Shirley!
Shirley, I’m sure you were attracted to that vintage tablecloth because of the pineapples on it! How very perfect for you and it’s gorgeous. I cannot say that I have a favorite centerpiece as I love each and every one you have done! I, too, get a real sense of satisfaction in using and loving vintage items. Just hoping the next generation feels the same way as we do! Hope your foot is mending!
They’re all very lovely, Shirley:) Loving that antique tool caddy!
Lovely centerpieces…
