It’s truly been a whirlwind of a month for me
with my travels and events schedule.
Hopefully, it will calm down next month; however, when I say that,
I seem to be busier!
So that is why I have not been doing many projects lately.
I traveled to Florida this past week to see my mom
as she is recovering from back surgery.
When I returned, I went to the High Point Fall Market the very next day.
Do you want to know which one of the showrooms we had to see right away?
Yes, the Magnolia Home Showroom.
Signs showing us the way to the showroom.
And this beautiful scene of part of the ranch.
When we approached the showroom, I can just tell you that the furniture was awesome.
Just what you would expect from the design talent of Joanna Gaines.
After taking a few photos, we were asked to stop.
No photography allowed. Boo!!!
So I shaded out the furniture in this photo
and wanted you to let your imagination take you to a pretty place.
The sales representative informed me that the Magnolia Home Furniture collection
should arrive in the showroom floors some time in mid January, 2016.
The collection is made by Standard Furniture and worth waiting for.
In the meantime, we had to look from the outside in.
Kristen (Sophia’s Decor) with her mom and Step Dad peering into the windows.
No Press allowed . . . just buyers.
Hey! . . . I wanna buy!
But in the meantime, I will have to settle for this:
Hello Joanna! ๐
I want to leave you with two more photos.
Kristen and I were able to meet up with Courtney (French Country Cottage)
in-between her appointments with vendors. Always great seeing her.
And here is my mom:
She is doing great post-surgery. They are amazed at her recovery being almost 90 years old.
She is counting the days that her Physical Therapy ends.
Actually, she does OK without the walker, but the walker (with a seat)
allows her to pick up things and take them to their destination, like the kitchen.
She cannot sit still . . . her apron always on . . . prepared for the next task.
I have a busy week ahead and also planning an event at my home on Friday
in which I will share with you next week. ๐
Have a great day!!

Going to the High Point market is one of my dreams. Several years ago when we were driving to Maine we stopped there, but most of the showrooms were closed. Even so I managed to pick up a couple of things.
I’ve never been to the market… need to put that on my bucket list! Sounds amazing! Can’t wait to see Magnolia Home Collection! So glad that your mom is doing well! She’s so cute! Hope your event goes well Friday, take care! ๐ ~Rhonda
I cannot believe y’all could not go in and take pics. I guess they didn’t need some free early advertising. I don’t think they thought that through very well.
Shirley, you have been a very busy lady! I used to never miss a market in Atlanta and went to ADAC often, but over the past few years, I haven’t, but I need to go again! Your Mom looks great and I am thrilled she is doing so well! Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Look at your hanging out with Joanna! I bet it was just amazing. Waco is just about 100 miles from where I live. That little trip has got to happen soon. ๐
So glad your mom is doing well.
So jealous!!!!! You know how I love Joanna.
You are always doing the coolest things!! I wish I could get together with my blog friends from time to time. Thanks for sharing!
Shirley I can see what a great time you had at Highpoint!!
So glad your Mother is doing better!

JEALOUS!!! Gotta run but be back later to REALLY look!
Glad to hear your mom is doing so well! I would have loved to seen Magnolia Home’s showroom!
My goodness Shirley, you have had a month! I hope your foot is getting better with each passing day and am so happy your mom is doing well after back surgery! It’s never easy to see our parents having difficulties. I know you enjoyed the show. I can only imagine that the Gaines’ showroom was fantastic! I’m with you I would have loved to have seen photos. It’s always fun to run into fellow bloggers- what a great picture of all. It looks like you have had a busy month. Take care and don’t overdo your healing foot.
I’m so glad your Mom is doing well…she looks terrific! Sounds like you’ve been extra busy too…but I know you had fun! ๐
Shirley,
What a busy lady you have been! Glad your Mom is doing well after her surgery. She looks like a go-getter so I am sure she making good progress in her recovery.
I have always wanted to go to one of the Markets but I believe it requires a special pass as it isn’t open to the general public. I didn’t realize that Joanna Gaines had a new furniture line debuting but that doesn’t surprise me as she is one talented lady.
BTW…the new season of HGTV’s “Fixer Upper” premieres in early December. I think I have seen every episode three times. ha!
Sounds like so much fun!!! I don’t understand why they don’t allow photos? I mean they are already debuting it so what is the big secret?!?!? I can’t wait for the new season of the show…..
I’m glad to hear your mom is making a speedy recovery! She looks so cute with her apron on :o)

You are a lucky girl to still have your Mom around. I’m glad to see she’s doing so well after her surgery…they sure made them of strong stuff, eh? I could never keep up with my Mom. She raised 5 kids, two step-kids and looked after my two while I worked. Did I mention she also drove a schoolbus and worked at a nursery school in addition? No? And…she was always rearranging furniture, sewing, painting, wallpapering, crafting, refinishing furniture, etc. Whew, it makes me tired just thinking of all of it. If she were born at a later time, she would probably have her own blog too, lol. My instincts are to be like you and her, but I’m too lazy. I’m putting off going to the barn and working on the dresser I’m stripping. I’ve uncovered 5 layers of paint, a layer of WALLPAPER, and found out why all that is on there…a lot of veneer is missing. That’s why Mom did that to the dresser. Ugh. It’s such pretty wood too. Maybe I’ll paint that part, and refinish the frame and drawers. I saw something like that on Pinterest~~~ Ok, on to the battle…wish me luck.
You have really been on the go, broken toe and all! I hope it is healing well. I would love to have seen pictures from High Point Market but I totally get the “no pictures” deal. I designed and produced a product which I sold at the Atlanta market for 5 years. There are people who come to the market just to see what’s hot now. They proceed to take photos and make knock offs as quickly as possible. Any time you see a booth that is packed with people buy a hot new item, you can count on there being another very similar version at a cheaper price at the next market. The no photo policy is to try to protect their product for a little while.
Shirley your mom looks amazing…so glad she’s feeling better and healing well! LOVE Joanna Gaines!
What fun! Great picture of you and Joanna ๐
Hope your mom get well soon!
Blessings,
Cindy

I’m about 3 hours away from Waco and we are planning a trip soon. Grand opening is the 30th this month. Can’t make that, but hopefully soon after.
Hope your foot is doing better. Have a great rest of the week. xo
You have been busy. Your Mom is a beautiful lady and I would have never guessed her age. I love the red jacket and blouse you are wearing!!
What a great trip! Can’t wait to see the Magnolia Home furniture line, I’m sure it will be amazing. Glad your Mom is doing great, she looks wonderful! Can’t believe she is 90!
I am finally getting caught up on post now that I have internet and not just reading on my phone!!! Glad to hear you mom is recovering and you were able to spend time with her. It’s always fun to be with mom.
Ohh I am so excited to live close to High Point and how exciting you went to the fall market. I am just itching to get to decorating but unpacking and then painting. Thrilled to be somewhat neighbors!
Joanna and Chip sure have been in the spotlight lately! Too bad no photos were allowed, but I guess it makes sense. Love the picture of you with your arm around her :).
I can see a resemblance between you and your mom, especially the smile :). And it sounds like she passed on a few characteristics as well!
You really are a busy lady, I guess that is good. I rather be busy. I went to High Point Market and it was Fabulous!!!!! I wished I could have met you, Kristen, and Courtney. I was there when Toma Haines Clark (The Antiques Diva) was there. You look so good in that red standing by Joanna. And your mother looks good and happy to be her age. Pray she gets along well.
Your mom is too cute;) So glad she’s recovery nicely! And I’m sure that Joanna’s new showroom is pure delight:)
Going to High Point is on my bucket list, meeting Joanna another. Your mother looks great! What spunk she must have. I know it’s a joy for you to see her recovering so quickly. fondly ~lynne~
Shirley so glad your mama is doing ok! I am behind on catching up and so sorry. What a banner you could not tour Magnolia Market! After seeing pics on Joanna’s IG feed I was getting al excited. I really hope it will not be too pricey. How fun to meet up with all the wonderful ladies! Id love to go and tour High Point again someday. Went many many many years ago. Have a great weekend!:)
Sending good wishes for a speedy recovery to your Mom. What a sweetheart at almost 90! Yesterday marked my Mom’s passing 5 years ago at 91. She was also a tough Mom, but unfortunately once Alzheimer got a hold of her…Still miss her.
Sounds like you are having a fun time as usual. You are very lucky to have so much to get involved with. A little jealous! lol
Take care
Just discovered your blog via Richella’s instagram and yours. Wonderful! So wish I had known about the market. I am in Chapel Hill, and I frequently get near High Point because my daughter lives in Greensboro. Will have to go next year.
Never been, but it does sound amazing… When I travel I overbook myself with various tours and then I’m not left with too much time to shop… I’ll have to make an effort next time to get out and see some markets…
Glad your mom is doing well after her surgery Shirley! How amazing at her age!
Look at your sweet mom! I’m glad you ladies had fun in High Point–can’t wait to see what Kristen scored!
God Bless your mother. She is doing great and looks terrific. So glad that you had a great time at High Point. Yes, Joanna, does a terrific job with her decorating.
