Cookie baking in progress
take-out menus in drawer
is what the kitchen chalkboard chef sign says these days.
Do you find that with all of the Holiday preparations that need to be done,
when it comes to the dinner hour, you just can’t seem to get it together
with cookies cooling in sheets all over the counter
or the island is filled with rolls of wrapping paper, boxes and ribbon?
So thank goodness for a drawer filled with take-out menus.
And thank goodness my hubby does not mind leftovers!
Since we are here in the kitchen, I will take you on a little tour
of the table top of which the take-out menus are . . . tucked away
in one of the table’s drawers.
Cardinals seem to be a bit of a theme this year in the kitchen.
They are perched on top of a few vintage crocks.
They sit on breadboards too.
Beyond the kitchen is the sunroom
which you can see in the background.
And another thing you can see in the background
is the vintage white scale all dressed for Christmas.
I wish you JOY in your day . . .
JOY of cooking, or baking for your loved ones.
AND . . . JOY in ordering take-out!
Have a Merry Day!

Joy back to you. your house looks amazing this year Shirley. I do miss that upside down tree though.
Yes, when we made cookies last weekend my kitchen looked like a bomb went off and there was no counter space to be found. Glad I had a big pot of soup made already. Your kitchen is looking quite festive.
Oh my what a lovely festive kitchen!
Funny after a day of baking I’m not hungry…Wonder why!! lol
Merry Christmas Shirley to you and your family!
Shirley your kitchen looks amazing and I bet you have everything just perfect and in time for Christmas. I wish we lived close enough to places for takeout 🙁 but no such luck here in the stix.
I wish Joe was willing to do take out more. AND he hates left overs! UGH! I cook most nights and at this point am totally sick of it. Whoops, sorry for the rant:):):) Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!! XO
With baking, wrapping and last minute preparations for Christmas our usual dinners take a back sit. Soup, salad and quick eating is the norm. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
