I couldn’t wait.
I had some HomeGoods gift cards that I received for my birthday
burning a hole in my wallet.
I was taking down Christmas decorations and needed a break.
So off to HomeGoods I go.
I really had one thing in mind to get; however, they had nothing of that item in stock.
I then proceeded to the lamp department and there they were
just brought out and placed on the shelves and in the cart they went!
Love these brass and crystal lamps.
They are made by Broyhill.
This lamp reminds me of the brass and glass lamps at Pottery Barn.
And speaking of Pottery Barn.
I was at the mall with my hubby on Christmas Eve. Yes, I know . . . crazy!
We were picking up a few last minute gifts.
Of course, while I was there, I popped into Pottery Barn.
Do you remember these pillows I bought this past summer?
The Mayle bird pattern . . . that I used in the Master bedroom and also the Great Room.
Well, the bedding was on super sale!!
I turned to my hubby and said,
“I think the bedding should fit very nicely into my stocking”
I usually keep my Winter Birds bedding from Pottery Barn til February.
However, when I replaced the lamps in the room,
I thought, maybe now is the time to do a refresh.
I took a break from taking down Christmas decorations
to change out the bedding and pillows in the room.
No need to purchase accent pillows and euro shams
as I had them in my “bedding inventory” ๐
It seems like the winter theme decor in the house is “winter birds”
so I shall pretend that these “warm weather birds”
forgot to fly south for the winter.
When decorating for Christmas,
the Master Bedroom is actually the first room I decorate.
You know the old saying that “one thing leads to another”?
Well, by changing out the one thing, the lamps,
it certainly led me to the other . . . to replace the bedding in the room,
as my stocking was getting pretty heavy and needed to come down from the mantel. ๐
Are you “winterizing” your home after the Christmas decorations have come down?
I think taking down the decorations and creating new looks to a room
is probably my favorite thing to do. How about you?
Have a wonderful day!!!

Your new bedding and lamps are so pretty Shirley! Our HomeGoods gets their shipments on Tuesdays and Fridays and I love it if I’m lucky enough to time it when they’re wheeling out their new inventory ๐
I need to check out each HomeGoods here to see when their “truck comes in” Have a great day Mary!
I love your bedding – the bedroom looks amazing. Beautiful!!
Thanks Anne!…How’s Izzy doing?…
What a beautiful choice! I love the coloring in the bedding and how nice it looks with your bed. I’m in that mode winter using around the house- feels good!
Thanks Liz….winterizing here too….but happy that the birds on the duvet did not fly south for the winter!
Great lamps and I love the new bedding. You always seem to find bedding with the perfect colors for your room. I’ve been changing up the bedrooms, too. duh!
I love it that I can find bedding that will go with the blue and coral or is it blush…or maybe bashful.
Shirley, your new bedding and lamps are gorgeous, love the changes! I wish we had a Homegoods a little closer to us. Unfortunately, it’s a two hour drive to the nearest one. I hate missing out on all those fabulous deals!
Oh My Cindy…I have 5 within a 25 mile radius!….However, the closes Ikea is 2 1/2 hours away…
I always marvel at how pretty your master bedroom is. I’ll confess that we don’t winterize too much here. It’s cooler than normal but my roses are still blooming. ๐
Stacey, your roses are still blooming…oh those Yellow Roses of Texas!!…
Pretty and fresh, Shirley! I’d love to refresh my master this year — it’s been 16 years! Yikes!
xo Heidi
With me it feels like “16 days” … Have a great one Heidi!!
I love your new bedding, PERFECT in your room. Having said that, there is nO WAY I could get Joe to go to the mall, especially on Christmas Eve!!!! You sure have a keeper there!!! I also love the new lamps. again perfect. The room looks beautiful….as always. I am LOVING my Winter Birds bedding!
Love mine too…but having it for three years (winter seasons), I thought that it was time for an early change up!
Any snow yet up there?
Shirley, I love your finds. I’m so glad that our HG is only 12 minutes away because I love that place! We have the same headboard (chuckle!) in our guest bedroom. Unfortunately, we couldn’t utilize a footboard because that room is just 13×13 and the bottom posts look too massive for that space. I think the pediment on the headboard is the prettiest I’ve come across thus far…love it!
Thanks Bobbi….I love it too, but one day I hope to change the entire look of the room starting from scratch…maybe in my downsized home!!
Those lamps are fabulous! And the bedding is beautiful.
Thanks Penny….we need a “meet-up” soon!
Love the new bedding, Shirley! It’s sure to chase away winter blahs. ๐ I simply must refresh my rooms after Christmas or I would be sad with all the sparkle gone. Plus it’s a good time to clean and declutter! Yep, I’m cleaning out stuff!
Thanks Cecilia…you should see our garage…filled with bags to go to the donation centers!
Very pretty Shirley! This is the same color scheme I am putting together in the great room. I bought two of the animal print pillows for the sofa. Can’t wait until the new chairs arrive.
I need a trip to Home Goods, too!
Sounds great Pat….Looking forward to seeing those new chairs!!! Hope the weather is kinder to you all now!
Hi Shirley, your bedroom refresh is gorgeous. I love every detail and your lamps are stunning. I have similar lamps but with rubbed oil bronze for the metal. I love the slim lines on the night stands. Your color theme is beautiful. I’ve been refreshing in all my rooms too and doing the furniture shuffle!! Enjoy and think I’ll take a break and head to Home Goods. LOL
Happy weekend ahead!
Hey Celeste…we can dance to the Furniture Shuffle together!!! HomeGoods is always a great break in our day!!
I must tell you the truth…when I first saw that pattern (throw pillow on your loveseat and the other pillows)back a few months ago (I think) I wasn’t too crazy about it. But seeing it in the big scale of your bedding and how it ties in to the print hanging above your bed,the bench cushion, etc. you’re a GENIUS! The colors play off everything, including the paint on the walls! I shouldn’t have doubted you, I see that now. *smacks own hand* Trust. TRUST! Love those birds~now *Be glad your feet are much smaller than mine, I would steal those shoes. Just sayin. ; )
Well, I am truly a “bird lover” …. and glad that you love it now…I am always on the lookout for fabrics that coordinate with my bedroom color scheme and lucky that there seems to be a lot of it now…Have a great day Denise!
mine too. your room always looks so gorgeous. perfect retreat! Now get back to work.:)
Yes ma’am!! xoxo’s
The new bedding is lovely…as are the lamps! I don’t refresh….I try new arrangements. Easier that way…and a good opportunity for me to see what I do and don’t use…so I can simplify! ๐
Great idea Donnamae…I truly need to concentrate on the simplify this year!
Shirley you bedding is beautiful. I have a similar bed – Bombay – that I love. I bought it second hand and didn’t quite know what to use with it. My bureaus are very old and truly don’t match the bed but I will be on the outlook for new bureaus. I also made a bed skirt for the bed – the drop is so high I couldn’t find anything that fit but I love the way your bed looks without a skirt. I think I am going to have to try that. Of course that means I will not be able to hide anything under the bed (that will be our secret).
I always think ,Shirley can’t do anything to top her decorating but you just keep doing everything I love.:) Your bed always looks so beautiful and I’m just noticed you don’t use a bed skirt.I use one but have thoughts of taking it off when I have my carpet cleaned.
Looks really good, great choice. I’m done with taking down the Christmas decorations, but everyone’s in a while I find something else that is Christmas and needs to be packed. So I keep one tub just for that reason and put the items in and then list on front of box.
Have fun refreshing your rooms. Feels good doesn’t it?
Have a terrific weekend. We are sure getting the rain that we so badly need, but I am not complaining, bring it on.
Mary
On super sale??!! I am gonna borrow that ๐ Looks beautiful, Shirley! The lamps and bedding are such pretty accents. Great finds. I am itching to refresh. Cheers, L

Reallly beautiful, Shirley. I want to live in your beautiful house! Happy New Year.
Such pretty bedding, Shirley, and it goes so well with the blue of your walls. Nice find on the lamps. I need to find a new one for our guest bedroom. For some reason it is just not working and I always forget to check out Home Goods for lamps.
Beautiful room,Shirley! I love the new bedding. What a sweet stocking stuffer! The lamps are gorgeous! I have always thought you have the prettiest bedroom. Have you ever shared the name and brand of your carpeting? So elegant. Can you tell I just love the whole room?!

Hi Shirley, love your house and all your ideas! Love, love your shoes in this post too! A question. The cheetah pillow cover is a 24″ cover but it looks like a smaller pillow insert was used. I like it and just want to know what size insert you have in it.
Thanks!
They’re beautiful, Shirley! Oh I love the picture of you & hubs:) And of course the leopard print is simply marvelous:D
Me too… I just don’t have the storage room for anything more… It’s a shame because I do love to change things up… Lovely bedding and cushions…
