Housepitality Designs

it's all about the hospitable home

A Wreath Is Not Only for a Door. . . A Mantelscape

A wreath is not only for a door.

You have seen them hung on walls, on mirrors, on a bookcase

or a decorative element for a chair.

So many ways that you can decorate with a wreath.

I have used my preserved boxwood wreath in a container in the past.

Today, it is in a container.

An antique French bread basket that is.

Rather than hanging the boxwood wreath on the shutters,

I decided to place it in a basket for added texture

and the bread basket fit the bill.

The tall candlesticks seem to be a staple on the mantel.

Added some topiaries I had on hand and a little greenery.

I am into the less is more this year.

Well, as “less” as I get.

I am also truly trying to use and decorate with what I have . . .

To re-purpose and refresh.

But that does not count when I have gift cards!!! 🙂

Great Room - Housepitality Designs

I am slowly refreshing rooms after the Christmas decorations are taken away.

Also, note to self: Ask hubby to light the pilot light in the fireplace.

So all I need to do is flip the switch for instant cozy!

Now off to do some more “refreshing”.

Have a beautiful day!!

I love the touch of greenery, Shirley. It adds a nice touch of freshness to the room. I need to get back to my decluttering. Got pulled away by appointments and stuff. Where did you get your boxwood wreath? I have seen them in a lot of blogs and they are just so pretty!

Another place that I like to hang a wreath is on a mirror. Clear Command hooks work great for this.
