Housepitality Designs

it's all about the hospitable home

February 22, 2016 By Shirley

It Started With A Candlestick, A French Country Vignette

It started with a candlestick.

A pretty candlestick that a friend had purchased, based on my recommendation,

however, the vision turned in another direction and this candlestick did not work.

She offered the candlestick to me rather than returning it as she got it for 50% off.

I gladly accepted!

So I proceeded to walk the house . . . I am sure you know what I mean,

to choose the right home for it.

It made sense to re-create the coffee table vignette

that already contained a few pieces of silver items.

Items that were previously in the vignette were tweaked for a new look.

Rather than the books stacked and lying on the table,

I placed them upright on the silver tray.

I filled French food molds that I purchased in France with lavender buds

and placed them on the table to add to the lavender color scheme.

A silver decorative pedestal that was in the master bath seemed perfect

as a pretty book end.

The silver candlestick (from Pottery Barn) is a perfect compliment

to the French Country vignette.

Tweaking and re-designing decor in my house is my favorite thing to do.

How about you?

On another note, my blog will be undergoing a bit of maintenance and

you may see a maintenance or error message in the next couple of days.

But I will be back…until then….Have a great day!!!

Change should be your middle name. Today I found myself wanting to change things around but decided to wait until later as I just couldn’t find the way to make it happen!
