My chippy bench has made its magazine debut. It has hit the big time.
The chippy bench, formerly owned by Mary Alice,
the one that is at the foot of the guest room bed.
Here’s the story:
Once upon a time, in the land of Chateau Chic, where Mary Alice reigns as Queen,
the chippy bench sat proudly at the foot of the bed in one of the guest rooms of the Chateau.
But first, meet Queen Mary Alice . . . It was casual day at the Chateau, so no crown required.
Here in the guest room of the Chateau, the chippy bench sits proudly and beautifully
at the foot of the bed, always with beautiful things to adorn it.
One day, when I was visiting the Chateau, I consulted with the Queen.
Now, let me elaborate . . . I consider Mary Alice one of the Queens of
great styling. Every surface of her home is graced with sheer beauty.
As in the way the antique train luggage rack is styled.
I mentioned to Mary Alice that I needed a bench for my guest room.
She pointed me to the perfect one, the chippy one!
Mary Alice and I love to travel to great antiquing destinations.
And there are many times when she will present an item that she found
with the statement, “I think you need this” ….. and I did!
I also love to shop in her “Etsy” My home is filled with her inspiration and items.
Like this great sugar bowl.
A sugar bowl which was once part of her collection.
Excuse the “wobbly pics” taken from the magazine!
I must say that a great part of my ironstone collection
comes from Mary Alice’s shop.
From the great pitcher, to soup tureens on the French buffet.
to the vintage scale . . .
Have you guessed where this is all going?
Mary Alice’s former home is featured in Country Sampler’s Magazine.
The Home Tours edition. And she made the cover too!
If you follow Mary Alice at Chateau Chic, you will know that she moved away
from her beautiful home in Virginia and is now living in a most charming cottage.
My kitchen is also adorned with crocks from her shop.
Her home is filled with such beautiful collections
such as this gallery of beloved vintage French landscape prints.
Mary Alice and Kim along with their hubbies came to my home for a weekend visit,
as we were going to attend a local antique fair in my area.
Prior to her visit, I mentioned to Mary Alice,
that I was on the lookout for shutters to place on each side of my dining room windows.
She found shutters that she thought would work well and brought them to me.
And they were perfect ….. perfect in appearance and size!
I remember sitting in her beautiful screened porch and overlooking
the beautiful yard, having a wonderful sense of peace
from the beauty that surrounded me.
And, you will have that sense too, when you read the amazing article,
a 10 page spread,
of Mary Alice’s in “Country Sampler’s Home Tours” on stands now.
The one with her breakfast room/kitchen on the cover! 🙂
So run, don’t walk to get your copy to get amazing inspiration for your home.
Have a great day! I will be giving some humble lessons to my chippy bench!
