A Moving Sale of Beautiful Antiques

This week I will be helping my friend Martha,

the artist, the quilter, the gourmet cook, the expert on antique linens,

and more. No, her last name is not Stewart!

She and her hubby are relocating to the Lone Star State to be closer to their son.

Their home is filled with many beautiful, quality antiques and unfortunately,

they are unable to bring them all to their new downsized home.

8 Foot Antique Bench - Housepitality Designs

We shall start off in the foyer with this amazing 8 foot bench.

Please note, that all of the antiques shown here today are American antiques

dating from the 1800’s to the 1950’s . . . All in excellent condition.

The antique blue and white willow pattern by Noritake is for sale,

however, not that gorgeous step back cupboard.

The beautiful red transferware is not for sale; however, this exquisite

corner cabinet is.

Here is sits in the foyer for great linen storage.

I am going to miss this scene as I walk up the steps to Martha’s front porch.

This one side of the porch always contained the most beautiful flowers in her

goat cart, of which it is not for sale.

Your friend has some amazing treasures, I’m sure it was very hard for her to decide what to keep and what to let go?!?!? I miss the days of good estate sales and spending hours in antique stores that were filled with treasures such as your friend’s and not flea market junk!!! In our area the younger generation is not interested in antiques so many stores have closed….so sad! Best of luck to your friend and her move :o)

Wow, wish I could go and had money to spend! Lovely antiques, just gorgeous. I wish your friend the best of luck on her sale and impending move to Texas. We lived there years ago when hubs was stationed there. Would love to go back for a visit..

If I was able to afford it and close by I would definitely go for the spool cabinets and school desk. Of course I have no room for them. It’s a shame she can’t take them with her.

Wow, what amazing pieces. I love the cabinet with the old fashioned flat drawers… so much storage potential there. The ladder and oh-my all the dishes are gorgeous too.

The yellow butter churn is wonderful! Love the jugs and the distressed wood bench too. I wish I could just drive a truck to the home and load up-lol.

I’m sure it’s going to be tough to part with so many treasures but I hope your friend will find some pleasure in knowing that her well-loved pieces will go to people who want them and will take good care of them.

I have several things like Martha’s. We are thinking of down sizing soon as well! As antique dealers it will be so hard to decide what to keep. Each piece has a story as to where we found it and who we purchased it from!
I wish you the best Martha! You are blessed to have Shirley as your friend!

She certainly has some beautiful antiques. It’s a good thing that I live in So CA or I would be there going broke LOL

I will be facing that in about a year and I just have to bite the bullet and get on with my life.

Have a great week. We are getting some much deserved rain and everything is sparkling. Roses love it and are full of blooms.

Lovely antiques… I’d also move one, but before the moving day we organize a garage sale for the things we do not needed anymore in couples of days. In that way we save lots of money.

Moreover, I love your beautiful antiques, Shirley!

Hello Shirley, you did such a great post after I finished reading this moving sale I come up an idea to lessen our stress and hassle on our moving day I will start to purge on the things that we do not need anymore or make a garage sale so we will not move an expensive move but cause we earn money on things do not needed anymore.

    Thank you for the idea…
