In my last post you were shown some amazing antiques that my friends Martha
and her husband Bill, are selling due to their relocation to the Lone Star State.
I have been working with Martha this week on sale preparations, mainly “marketing
and promotion” and I must say it has been a little hard for me.
Not physically, but emotionally.
When I come home from helping her just a bit, the reality sets in.
That they are really moving. It is a good move for them.
To be closer to their son and his family.
I will always have memories of our many activities together, such as our
Sewing Group . . . where lately there was more b – – – – i n’ than stitchin’,
our Crafty Chicks projects, our dinners, bunco and the list goes on.
I have made many moves myself . . . leaving lots of friends and family.
However, you make new friends, friends for life, friends that you know
you will always stay in touch with as they touched your life in a beautiful way.
Friendship is like a fine china pattern, beautiful and timeless.
Timeless . . . as when you meet again . . . you pick up where you left off,
feeling as though there was little time since you have last seen each other.
When I sit in this sitting area of my dining room
relaxing with a cup of tea, or with my first cup of coffee in the morning,
I will think of dear Martha and Bill too.
As my cup will be sitting on a beautiful antique table once owned by them
with an exquisite piece of china that once belonged to her mother.
I am blessed with the most wonderful family and friends.
Friends that I will treasure forever.
Friends that I can talk on the phone for hours, catching up, until we meet again.
So as the late beautiful couple of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans would say,
“Happy trails to you . . . till we meet again”
And that we will, as Martha is moving close to Round Top!!! 🙂
Have a wonderful day, remembering close friendships of the past
and treasuring the ones of the present.
