Part One of the HGTV 2016 Smart Home Tour presented a tour of the first floor
with the exception of the Master Bedroom and Screened Porch.
Today, I present the beautifully appointed bedrooms and home office area on the second floor.
You are in for a treat, as the HGTV Design Star Tiffany Brooks worked her magic
for a gorgeous color palette for each room and some surprises of smart technology
from the technology experts/companies.
The beautifully tailored Master Bedroom combines classicism
with a wonderfully fun and bright color scheme.
Love the Apple Green that Tiffany carried over from the living room in to the master bedroom
accented with the Hot Pink. The Hot Pink bench at the foot of the bed
immediately caught my eye when I walked into the room.
And speaking of Tiffany, I asked her:
“Previous to HGTV Design Star, who was your favorite designer that
influenced your style? “
Tiffany: “Jay Jeffers”
The bed is from Sleep Number.
The room is so very cozy with this sitting area and the fireplace.
The bedroom is also very bright with the great windows and sky lights and motorized
blinds by Somfy Systems.
Over the fireplace is a TV; however, you would not know it.
When the TV is off, it transforms into a mirror. You can learn about this
at FrameMyTV.
This next item you will see in the master bedroom closet is on my wish list.
It is called a SWASH. It is an appliance that deodorizes, de-wrinkles, and re-shapes
your clothing in as little as 10 minutes …. for those clothes that do not have to be
washed…..just refreshed. How many of you have heard that you should not wash
your jeans after wearing them each time. It will definitely extend the life of your clothes.
Here is the dreamy Master Bathroom.
The Moen shower system with sprays and rain shower heads can be controlled via remote.
One of the bedrooms upstairs could be a fabulous guest room or a room perfect
for a teen girl, as the colors and beautifully bold wallpaper
are bright and cheery, not to mention fun!
And speaking of fun, I asked Tiffany,
“Who or what gave you the desire to enter the HGTV Design Star Competition?”
Tiffany told me this story: Her brother is an architect. The college fund money
went to the boys in the family. Her brother sort of dared/ encouraged Tiffany to enter.
They are very competitive so she entered,
and the rest is history.
Tiffany has no formal interior design training and now owns a interior design firm
north of Chicago and her architect brother now works for her! Love that story!
The addition of cooler colors makes it feel like a great spa like retreat.
Love this cubby!
As I stated in the previous post of the Smart Home,
the furnishings in the house is from Bassett Furniture along with most accessories.
Next door to this very cheerful bedroom is another cheerful and happy bedroom.
The Nursery.
I love the way the nursery is decorated.
From the great color scheme to the oh so fun faux animal rug!
I am not quite certain, but I can bet that the inspiration for this room
came from the fabulous fabric/drapes.
There is one more bedroom. It is located in the walkout basement floor.
Not seen in this photo is the ceiling which is painted the same shade of apple green
that can be seen throughout the house.
And last (for today) but certainly not least, is the home office space
that is located on the second floor off the 2 bedrooms.
Some of the colors from the nursery are carried out to the home office.
Just as you reach the top of the stairs,
the Home Office is directly on your right. A great use of space.
Another great use of space is with this beautiful window seat and bookcases
for wonderful comfort and storage.
.
You can see that so many talented people in every aspect of homebuilding and design
created a most fabulous home. Next week I will finish up the tour with more amazing rooms
and spectacular porches!
Have a fabulous day!!

EVERY GLOWING OPINION IS ENTIRELY AND HAPPILY MY OWN!!!
Well, the pink drew me in!! Love that people are not afraid of hot pink these days, and love it with the green:-) What a fun space to tour Shirley!!
I am loving seeing the house. I really love the office it is the perfect size and in a great place of the house. Thanks for the tour I really enjoyed it!
Cool story about Tiffany. That’s funny her brother now works for her! Pretty home and wow the technology now is unreal.
I KNOW I love the decor of this home much more than the “HGTV Dream Home.” The Dream is just not my taste in decorating; whereas this home seems a bit more grounded. Beautiful design elements.
How lucky you were to tour this beautiful home. I noticed that in your first pic of the master there is no bed tray, then it appears:) Tiffany sure is talented!! I wish my son would enter this contest, I bet he could do very well!!! I am thoroughly enjoying this tour! I love the fun colors, just not sure if Joe would go for hot pink in our master:) Have a beautiful day, Shirley!!!
I have truly enjoyed seeing this home.
I love the prints in the nursery and intend to send link to Xanti. The bearded one is the exact image of our grandson in law.:-)
What a fabulous job the designer did and your photos are wonderful Shirley!
Shirley, I think the master is fabulous! Being one that loves color, I enjoyed all the bedrooms and office! Thank you for sharing!
Not so sure a “swasher” is on my list of must haves ;), but that master bath is gorgeous!!! That shower 🙂
Fuchsia, hot pink or whatever you want to call it is my favorite accent color so I really like seeing touches of it in the bedroom.
Lots of bold and exciting colors are throughout this home for sure! I love it all though:) I absolutely adore the master bath! Very awesome tour, Shirley:) Thanks for sharing your lovely pics!
Love it! I think it’s so much fun to go into model homes and see what they’ve done to style the house. Love the apple green and hot pink together.
Gorgeous!!!
I am loving the tour of this home. That master bath is gorgeous.
Thanks for the tour Shirley! I love the coffered/paneled wall in the master bedroom!
Do you happen to know where the master bed linens came from. I’d love to recreate some of those ideas in my master redesign.
Love all the colors in this HGTV home. She did a wonderful job on decorating.
Thanks for taking us on this great tour.
Have a great week.
Mary

That designer did a brilliant job. It’s incredible when you consider what humans can create. Thanks for sharing these images of your new home office and bedroom (if I was a misbehaving child, I wouldn’t like to be marched into that office.. haha)
Love everything about it!!!!! Do you happen to know where did she get the drapes in the living room from?
