it's all about the hospitable home

Master Bedroom of Blue and White

Today, I am joining some of my very favorite blogger friends

presenting some wonderful inspiration and love for the color blue.

Blue, a color that is pretty much a constant throughout my home.

In keeping with my efforts to transform my home from the Winter decor to

Spring, it was time to change out the bedding in the Master Bedroom to a lighter feel.

I looked in one of  the linen closets where I store my bedding

and the blue and white duvet seemed to be the perfect transition from Winter to Spring.

I purchased this Pottery Barn duvet last year when it was on clearance.

A trip to the fabric store yielded this great blue and light cream buffalo check

in which I quickly had my friend Linda make pillows for the bed.

I had enough fabric to cover the seat cushion of the chair.

The monogrammed roped pillows were a birthday gift

from my brother and sister-in-law.

And . . . enough fabric to re-cover the bench seat cushion too.

An apricot colored throw is placed on the bench to tie in the color

of the sofa in the siting area.

Navy Blue Pillows were added to the sitting room sofa of shades of light peach/apricot

to further tie the colors in the room together.

A blue hydrangea placed in a vintage blue and white Noritake sugar bowl

adds great reflection on the mirrored table.

Do you remember these blue and white ceramic jars that landed on the dining room table

waiting for a more permanent place? Well, they found their home.

I purchased these boxwood topiaries at HomeGoods along with the blue and white ceramic jars.

Actually, there was no intention of putting them together. When I unpacked them

and placed all of my purchases on the dining room table,

they shouted that they belonged together. They were a family.

Cue the song, “We Are Fam – A – Lee”

One more room transitioned from Winter to Spring.

As I mentioned previously, I am joining some amazing design bloggers/friends

who love the  beautiful color of blue as much as I do.

Please  visit each of them (their links below) as you will surely be in for a real treat

of a great dose of inspiration!

Have a wonderful day and enjoy your weekend!

Beautiful – simply elegant – stunning! I love Buffalo Check – I have used it in gold/cream in my kitchen and laundry/pantry rooms. I don’t have any blue and white, but I’d love to collect a few pieces. Thanks for sharing!
