It was time to refresh the front porch for Spring.
I knew I wanted a new look.
The vintage wagon with the background of the vintage door
has been a staple on the porch for a while now. Time for a change.
It all started with a trip to my favorite garden center
where I spotted these beautiful cobalt blue pots.
I started with this large pot that I knew I wanted to place in the corner
and use the evergreen that I purchased back in February for my Valentine’s Day Porch.
When the large pot was placed in the corner of the porch,
it needed some friends to join it…..a bit lonely.
I was spying this cute fountain and thought that it would be a great compliment
to the collection of potted plants.
The second trip to the garden center, this time with hubby in tow,
yielded another cobalt blue flower pot and the fountain.
This side of the porch has always been colorful,
but with the addition of the cobalt blue pots, I love it more.
Wreaths of yellow and white refreshed for Spring.
Actually, the pillows I purchased from Marshall’s about a month ago
were the inspiration for my color scheme for the Spring porch this year.
Yellow Dahlias placed in the blue and white bowl.
Can you see my irises in the background starting to bloom?
We have been working about the yard and visiting garden centers this past weekend,
purchasing things that will enhance the porches and the yard, that is filled with pretty
flowers that are blooming. We have made sure that we have a great stock of deer repellent!!
The Upper Back Porch for Spring was completed last week and now I will be moving on the the lower back porch
then all three porches will be done!
Happy Monday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend and Happy Spring!

Loving the blue and the addition of the fountain. I need to get a fountain for the deck just for the sound of it. You have given me a new idea. 🙂

Love that fountain! I would be constantly sitting out there listening to the sound of the water…and get nothing done! Enjoy! 😉
Yep the cobalt blue is the perfect color against the brick portion of the house. I really like the water feature and your topiaries by the door. What kind of ivy is growing in them?

Hi Shirley! Oh, your porch is gorgeous. I love how you’ve massed your plants and that little water fountain in the blue pot is so pretty! Just like the inside of your home the outside is lovely too!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉
Everything you show us always inspires me to be creative too, Your front porch is lovely without a thing on it, but you push its beauty over the top! So southern, so welcoming, and it certainly has that housepitality tone and feel. Gorgeous new pots and fountain just pop! You get an A+ again,Shirley. The porch is like a prelude. The happy wreaths on the doors are just a hint of the beauty inside. This was a great way to start my day and week. Thank you, Shirley. Hope yours is great too!
I love, love, love the cobalt blue pots! I have seen bubbler fountains like your that attract hummingbirds! I have a cobalt blue pot and I did a little post on it today. I hope you don’t mind, but I added a link to your blog post on your pretty pots!

Shirley, I love cobalt blue outside, it says Provence to me! I bought a large cobalt planter three years ago and I placed it in the garden this spring with a mandevilla . Your water feature is the perfect addition to your corner! Happy porch sitting!

The blue really pops, and looks great against the red blooms. You’re so lucky you can plant now. It’s still chilly here.
Is the fountain battery operated, or do you have an outlet nearby?

Your porch looks wonderful. I love that blue color and coincidently I just bought two small pottery pieces in that color. I got new chair cushions with blue and yellow last year and I wanted to play up the blue a bit more. I love the little fountain- how cute. The red geraniums are beautiful. What are the plants in the pots to the left and right of the door with the metal topiary forms?

Shirley, what a beautiful entry your guests are greeted with when they arrive at your door.
I love the bold, cobalt blue and the mix of greenery to add a little nature. This outside display complements that blue and white centerpiece arrangement inside, right?
Perfect presentation and I love those double doors.
Happy day!
