A couple of weekends ago, I was in Richmond, Virginia
attending one of my hubby’s tournaments.
Between games, I did the usual.
I looked up the nearby HomeGoods from my phone and off I went.
I do love shopping in HomeGoods in other cities
as I do find things that my local stores do not have.
Now maybe that is because by the time I do go to HomeGoods in my area,
items that I would be interested in are gone by the time they hit the floor!
I found this garden stool in the Richmond HomeGoods store and tucked it away in my bedroom
until I found a spot for it, and this seemed to be the best . . . so far,
as things always seem to grow legs around this house.
Speaking of growing legs . . .
I decided that my coffee table needed a little change,
Since it’s only been a couple of weeks since the last change!
I kept this sweet sugar bowl on the table and added a pink hydrangea vs. a blue one.
The blue and white containers took a walk from the master bedroom.
The topiaries followed them.
Actually, I needed to change out the vignette on the coffee table
as I did a little summer makeover on the kitchen counter
and things snowballed from there.
One change led to 4 changes! Those to be revealed soon.
Hope you are having a great start to your summer.
Our temps are climbing, with the exception of a couple of very pleasant days here.
This past weekend, we did get a chance to stop on our way home from a tournament in Knoxville, Tenn.,
and enjoy lunch on the water at Lake Lure, NC.
It was so nice to sit by the water with the fabulous breezes blowing
after a weekend of 96 degree temperatures on the ballfield. Yes, I am a loyal fan.
And speaking of nice, if you happen to be near Castine, Maine on July 13th,
this is a tour not to miss. Loi of Tone on Tone beautiful historic home will be on tour.
Have a beautiful day!

Wow, that’s a big snowball effect. Love that garden stool. I want another one and haven’t found one at HG yet that will work. Lake Lure is so beautiful.
LOVE the garden stool…..all of your blue and white pieces are so beautiful!!!! It has been very hot and humid here so I have been staying in where it is cool. Hoping for lower humidity today but it isn’t likely……

It’s like when you give a mouse a cookie… :). Love me some HomeGoods!

I love garden stools, and your blue and white collection is growing! I don’t know how you sit thru ball games in this heat!
The stool is fabulous! Love the pink hydrangea with the blue and white.
I been searching for the ‘just right’ garden stool for awhile. I would certainly have purchased the one you bought. I love it! Very slowly building my own collection of blue and white ceramics, so refreshing, upscale, and timeless.
Beautiful stool and I’m Loving all of your blue and white accents for summer!

I love all the blue and white accents. They look beautiful in your room. I love all your use of colors. It makes your room look so warm, cheerful, and inviting.
Works great with all your blue and white. Home Goods is my fav. Been a while but I’m back
Cindy
Love Home Goods! Love your new garden stool. Love your rearranging ventures because you have the perfect touch! You spoil your readers with such tempting eye candy! Delicious!
Shirley,
I wish I had known you were going to be in RVA, I would have given you the names of some great shops to check out. Of course, you probably were time restricted being there for your hubbys tournament.
I love to check all the HomeGoods in different cities and states as well because the inventory is always different. Loved seeing the pics of Lake Lure, NC. We have been there several times and just love it there.
Shirley, I always love the way you use your blue and white…the garden stool is stunning. I have been looking for one at a good price, need to check Home Goods, but there is not one in our city! The coffee table is beautifully styled. You have a great eye and talent! Yes, you are a loyal fan…stay cool at the games!
Shirley – you made the most perfect vignette. I love the garden stool and haven’t seen any like it near me. That’s why I love to shop other Home Goods too! I especially love your blue and white near the red chair – so unexpected and perfect.

Shirley, all of your blue and white pieces are beautiful! I have been looking to add some to our outdoor room. I will have to check Home Goods…they built a new one about 5 minutes from me. Your garden stool was a great find!
The stool is gorgeous! Of course? I’ve heard you say several times now, how things just seem to grow legs and move around. It makes me laugh every time because when I was younger, and my mother would ask me where something was (and I would always shrug my shoulders with the ” I don’t know” bit ). Then my mother would always say, “well, what did it do…grow legs and just walk off, Cindy?” ???
Shirley, I love the new addition! Castine and Camden, ME are two of our very favorite places to vacation…wish we could make it up for the home and garden tour, but we just got back from our vaca, so that won’t be happening. Love Lake Lure, too, and have been there many times while traveling through NC…picture of it looks so cool and refreshing.
Your blue and white collection is gorgeous. Beautiful anywhere in your home.
Thanks so much, Shirley, for the House and Garden tour mention. I wish you could come up for a visit.
Cheers, L
Love love the garden stool. Look forward to seeing all the changes!!! We are at OBX with the family. Having a great time!!!
Such a beautiful space. I love the paint color on your living room walls. Is that a Sherwin Wms. paint? It is very much like the color of my bedroom in our last home. Interestingly, Lake Lure, NC was the setting for Phyllis Whitney’s novel “Star Flight.” Keep cool in this Southern Heat.
I saw your garden stool on FB, and had to come over for a closer look! What a fabulous piece! I love blue and white pieces, so classic and pretty! The photo from Lake Lure was gorgeous, too! Enjoy your travels as a softball wife! ๐ ~Rhonda
Hi Shirley,
The stool is gorgeous. I am like you and love to check out other Home Goods. They do get different stock at different stores so that is always fun to find new treasures. Glad you are enjoying the baseball season.
Kris
I love the blue and white together. Just beautiful.
Hi Shirley! Blue blue blue I’m in heaven! ๐ I love all your vignettes they are absolutely gorgeous! And this stool is beautiful too!
I wish you a very nice day,
Claire
You are the blue and white queen! I love your garden stool … had I run into you there, I might have snuck it out of your cart while you were busy eyeing other goodies! ๐
Look forward to seeing your four other changes! Stay cool on the ball field!
Gorgeous Shirley, your stool is a show stopper! All HomeGoods are not created equally I’ve learned. We have four in our area and of course the one closest to me is smaller with less inventory ๐ Enjoy your travels and shopping!
Fabulous…. My favorite pass time too… Have a Happy Father’s Day next to your loved ones…
So pretty, Shirley! The view of the water is just wonderful. Wish I could go to that home tour!
Your blue and white is perfect in your home. Pinning.
Blue and white is says summer. And you are so right, one change always leads to another. Love the garden stool.
Blue and white is cool and fresh for summer! Beautiful.
Hi Shirley,
Love the white and blue combination. It looks really good against all the greenery you have in the background! And, your interior decor is beautiful! HDA sells a variety of preserved boxwood, both for indoor and outdoor use, if you would like to check it out sometime, I would greatly appreciate it. Have a wonderful day!
