Grand ‘Ole Flags in Blue and White

Hi there! I am back from a little vacation adventure

celebrating our anniversary in the beautiful countryside of Kentucky.

I have lots of photos and stories (a haunted one too) of our trip

to share with you next week.

In the meantime, when I got home, in-between many loads of laundry and those chores

that need to be done after being away for 5 days, I adorned by coffee table with

the Grand ‘Ole flags.

In decorating for the various seasons and holidays

I have been trying just to embellish existing decorative items.

Oasis foam was placed in the sugar bowl to hold the arrangement of flags.

I  added a few items such as the book

that is appropriate to the theme of the vignette

and the blue hydrangeas for the blue, in the red, white and blue.

Flags and streamers of stars from my stash to add some sparkle.

I purchased this great “Uncle Sam” crafted from clay a bazillion years ago at a craft fair.

He is one of my very favorite Americana pieces.

His arms and legs are moveable.

A very proud salute to the celebration of Independence Day.

Americana Vignette - Housepitality Designs

A very quick change of a few items embellishing the existing decor

changed the look from a cool summer look of blue and white to Americana.

A simple and non-overwhelming look for the 4th of July holiday.

  19. I like how you described your Fourth Decor touches as embellishing existing decorations. Your fresh hydrangea blossoms are beautiful. Your book looks interesting and such a cute Uncle Sam.
I did several similar things with adding small american flags to my clam shell filled with starfish and smaller shells as well as adding flags to a flower arrangement.
    Happy Anniversary.
