While at the grocery store the other day,
I always make sure I visit the floral department to see what goodies they had for me.
The roses were on clearance. So a beautiful bunch of creamy white roses landed in my cart.
When I arranged the roses in the Mint Julep cup and placed it on the table
in the sitting area of Master Bedroom,
it occurred to me how much I loved the simplicity of this classic arrangement of roses.
Also love the creamy white roses against the background of my light peach sofa,
but my Steel Magnolia friend Sherri would say, “it’s not peach, it’s Blush!” Or is it Bashful?
As I looked around the area,
I felt it was in dire need of a little refresh . . . less stuff . . . simplicity like the arrangement of roses.
There were two side tables on each side of the sofa.
They were removed and relocated to other areas of the house.
I replaced the side tables with plant stands for a more simple and airy feel.
The plant stands were of different heights,
so I placed the ironstone tureen with a Pothos plant on a stack of books
to create the same level of height as the other side.
I love using this particular plant as it is so low maintenance.
When I took a step back, I realized how much better this area seemed to feel.
Less heavy, less crowded.
I am moving on to more areas of the house, doing more “refreshing”
concentrating on more wow factors rather than lots of stuff!
And speaking of “wow factors”
Hop on over to visit Anita of Cedar Hill Farmhouse
where you can see how some French Country bloggers
add the “wow” factor to their rooms,
and one of them is me!
On a another note …. my blog went a little wacky yesterday.
It only appeared in it’s normal state on one browser, Safari.
Finally got it fixed, and lost this post in the interim…so I tried to re-create it
the best that I could…and I apologize for a double submission in your email of my previous post.
Sometimes blogging with its technical difficulties is not for the faint of heart … at least for me!
Have a most wonderful, wonderful day!!!

Your master is so restful and pretty as it should be. So sorry for the blogging issues!

This room is gorgeous! The sitting area is so inviting looking 🙂
Sigh, the white [or blush or bashful roses] make my heart sing! So clever of you to use stands in lieu of tables to lighten the space. The green plants [also clever with books] breathe such life into the room, beautiful Shirley!

Your master bedroom is beautiful. I love the quaint sitting area. It looks so pretty. I’ve been refreshing things in my house too. I just ordered some new pillows, a coverlet, and curtains for my master bedroom. I love the red. I just want to lighten it up a little. I guess my brain is always working on ways to make things look better! I hope that you have a blessed day and a great weekend!!!

I always enjoy seeing this serene retreat. I think the refresh is lovely. You had better be careful. Someone may be calling to try to persuade you to open a bed and breakfast! I know I’d pay to stay!? You always inspire us Shirley. You truly have a gift. Thank you for sharing that gift.
The plant stands look gorgeous on each side of the beautiful peach sofa, and so does the picture that you somehow hung in front of your bright white blinds. Peach blue and white colors are such a pretty combination.
I love your peach and coral accents in the room. But the ceiling, with the curves and gorgeous molding, how beautiful!!!!!
Shirley, So sorry for your technical difficulties. I love your master bedroom however you style it. The plant stands look beautiful! The last photo just captures the ambiance of your room! Pam @ Everyday Living
