Repurposing Candle Holders Into Pedestals

I needed  something to place my blue and white ginger jars on to gain more height.

I only had one small pedestal  that I use to prop things on, but needed two.

I came across a second set of Pottery Barn candleholders that were put away

on my staging shelves in the attic. I then got the epiphany, the light bulb moment.

I turned them upside down and saw that they had the perfect surface for the ginger jars.

This is what the candle holders look like in their usual state of purpose.

I love placing faux boxwood balls on them. I am using this one as a bookend.

The candle holder was perfect turned upside down.

These candle holders just may be forever served as pedestals!

These Ralph Lauren ginger jars have the same pattern as my great room lamps.

All week, I have been going from one area of the house to another,

doing some prepping for the Fall. Just creating some of the backdrops for the actual Fall decor.

Soon the buffet will be filled with the bounty of Fall,

that you will see as soon as you walk through my door.

I love that my foyer is always filled with great light

to welcome family and friends.

So are you like me? Always turning things upside down and sideways

to see what other purposes they can serve?

Have a beautiful day!!!

I also want to let you know that the beautiful and sweet Amanda of Dixie Delights

Shirley, isn’t it funny how sometimes we see things in a new way! The candle stands turned upside down are perfect as pedestals! It is still so hot that I can only dream of autumn! Happy Wednesday!

I have used chunky candle holders as pedestals before! Usually to plop a faux pumpkin on in the Fall. Don’t you love it when inspiration hits and gives you that ah-ha moment? I love your cute little ginger jars and their “new” pedestals. Perfect in every way!

The buffet will look beautiful. LOVE that scale. I often debate about getting one. With downsizing I am not sure I want to take up that much room so the thought will continue.

I do this all the time; turn candle holders, saucers, bowls etc over to use as pedestals:) Great minds, huh? Can’t wait to do Fall too, am getting antsy. Need to put all the shell decor away now. Have a beautiful day, Shirley. XO

That worked out great! What a wonderful solution. I’m always trying to think outside the box too. My mother has a pitcher that matches your ginger jars and lamps. I hope that you are having a wonderful week!!!

Great idea Shirley! I have used them for making things out of but have never done that, and it looks great. Love your ginger jars. I am kicking myself that I gave away most of my big blue and white pieces several years ago. Not sure what I was thinking at the time and can’t find anything to replace them now. Love yours:-)

I went thrifting this morning with a friend, after I read your post. I found a wooden candle holder…I have the perfect place for it….upside down! Thanks for the suggestion! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Shirley, you are brilliant! I’m constantly wishing for something to use as a pedestal–and scratching my head a lot. The upside-down candlesticks work perfectly!

Your house decorated for any season is beautiful, but I think your Fall decorations really take the cake. Excited to see what you do this year!

How clever to turn candlesticks upside down. I am going to try that little trick! I have been catching up with my comments while I have been reading each post on my ipad and it is too hard to fill in all of my info on the comment form. I do my commenting while I am on my laptop…which can be a while later. Just want you to know I am keeping up with you. ๐Ÿ™‚ sheila
