Fall foyer decor this year is a bit of a departure
of what I have done in the past.
Lately, I have been drawn to all of the shades of purple . . . lavender.
There were some beautiful deep purple stock flowers at Trader Joe’s.
I began decorating the my antique French Buffet in the foyer by placing
the stock flowers in the blue and white ginger jars.
I added some stems of wheat for texture and to add more of a “fall look”.
A dried limelight hydrangea fills the blue and white cup
sitting on the sconces that flank the stained glass window.
I added a bright orange velvet pumpkin for another pop of color on the scale.
This velvet pumpkin is my sweeties favorite,
as she says the stem looks like the head of a dragon.
This Scottish antique scale that I obtained from my friend Martha
pretty much will be a staple on the antique buffet.
The foyer is ready to greet friends and family
for the Fall season.
Soon mums will fill the rooms of my home
both inside and out.
The bench in the foreground has yet to be “fallified” …
coming soon, when I reveal the Great Room for Fall.
So far, I love the way it is coming along!
Have a most beautiful day!!!

I’m loving the purple! It adds such a rich pop of color to your space and looks terrific in your blue and white ginger jar! Trader Joe’s always seems to have the best flowers at such great prices. It’s hard to go in without bringing home a bunch or two!
Shirley, I love the purple…it is non-traditional but I like that! Every color seems to work with blue/white! Your foyer is definitely dressed for the season! Happy Thursday!
Love the deep purples and that touch of orange. I need to go get some mums, too and back to the pumpkin farm. Waiting for cooler weather for the pumpkin farm.
I love the change and adding the unexpected color.I’ve kinda tired of my orange for fall and am trying to add some whites.I picked up a sweet white chenille pumpkin at a vintage sale.I love the way it looks.
I love those velvet pumpkins! (I don’t have any…I just admire them from afar.) Everything looks great! (And the lavender attraction? We have started selling it at shows, as a friend has bought a lavender farm!)
The simpleness with the rich pop of color is the perfect fall touch to your foyer.
Shirley, your foyer is absolutely beautiful! I love seeing your house! I also adore your yellow walls. In my old house, I had yellow walls and I miss them so! Could you tell me the color of your walls?
Thanks so much Shannon…the walls are Sherwin Williams Blonde.
Stunning! I love those velvet pumpkins…

I bet your foyer is smelling WONDERFUL from the stock flowers!!! I LOVE them too. Loving the purples, great “new” Fall color!
Shirley, how talented you are! Gorgeous! And I see a previous post of yours I must read right now before I get back to work.
It is looking very pretty! I love the purple you are using.
Shirley, it all looks just gorgeous. I love the rich purples mixed with the blue, white and pumpkin colors. Can’t wait to see your post for the Why I love to bHome in the Fall Tour! xo
Love that darling velvet pumpkin, I’m crushing on those today!
I love your choice of color combination, Shirley, including the deep purple. So beautiful, warm, and inviting to greet family and friends. The grain sacks in your tall basket add just the right softening touch to the whole display.

I have always admired your beautiful French buffet, Shirley. Your “fallifying” technique is lovely and compliments it so well. Beautiful!
No matter where it’s used I am crazy for purple and you know I like pops of color. BTW, how’s your hand?
Can’t wait to see more, I love this fresh unique take on fall Shirley…just between you and me, I am completely tired of gold orange and brown for fall, shhh…
So simple but so beautiful ♥

Your fall foyer looks wonderful. I like the idea of adding the purple. I had a vision of adding some purple on my sofa with pillows for a change of color. This inspires me! I always enjoy seeing your French chest- the details on it are fantastic.
Purple! My favorite color.. It sure adds a nice touch and changes up the table…
