A new look for the dining room chairs that are in the bay window
have been on the agenda for some time now.
I came across a fabric store that I have never been to and discovered
some great fabrics at great prices.
Pillow fabric came home with me that day and weeks later I found some fabric
that was the perfect color and the classic design I was looking for.
That fabric was on sale plus an extra 40% off! I bought all of the yardage on the bolt
which was a little over 9 yards and it came to less than $5.00/yard.
Here is the result:
Here is the before. The Ethan Allen Martha Washington chairs that I purchased
at an estate sale. They were in great condition; however, the fabric was dated.
I went back and forth on whether to recover the chairs in a solid color
or a neutral pattern, a classic pattern.
When I saw the fabric I knew these chairs could go into any room of the house.
I have always loved the houndstooth pattern.
The next thing was to find an upholsterer who could reupholster my chairs
in 10 days! … As I have an upcoming post that involves my dining room.
I called a company that was recommended and he said it would take three weeks
to reupholster the chairs.
I told him of my situation and he was so kind and said he would do his very best.
Well, 5 days later, he said that my chairs were ready for pick up any time!
Seriously?!! I will be right over!
It seems like the moon and the stars were aligned perfectly
as I found the fabric I loved at a great price,
and found a great upholsterer that was kind and very accommodating.
The fabric goes so perfectly with the dining room chairs and the valances.
I calculated that the total cost for the chairs
including fabric and labor was under $350.
That’s $175 per chair for a beautiful and refreshed look!
I have a busy week of Fall posts.
Come back and see what I have done to my front porch,
a pretty addition and changes in the Great Room and beautiful Fall decor in the dining room.
Lots of Fall inspiration coming this week that I will be sharing
along with some fabulous fellow bloggers.
Until then . . .
Have a most beautiful day!
