Fall Wreaths and Fall Porch Decor

I am so happy to be a part of the Fall Ideas Tour again this year,

where I am presenting my Fall Wreaths and Fall Porch Decor.

Today, is actually the day for Fall Wreaths, but I thought I may as well show you

the porch in which they are adorning.

My Fall wreath is a bit of a departure from years past.

I concentrated mainly on the colors that I planned to use on the porch

and the harvest of my summer hydrangeas that I have dried.

Fall Porch 2016 - Dried Hydrangea Wreath - Housepitality Designs

I have a few large hydrangea bushes and for the past 2 years, they had not bloomed.

However, this year they came back with a vengeance which made me very happy.

I knew I wanted to have the color scheme of orange and blue

and knowing I certainly did not have any dried orange hydrangeas,

I went to my stash of silk florals and found some faux hydrangeas that fit the bill.

I am a traditional kind of gal. Traditional in my interiors and my activities.

Like going every year to the Farmer’s Market to get my pumpkins.

Pumpkin Topiary - Housepitality Designs

Pumpkin topiaries have been on the porch for a few years now.

They used to be in my vintage wagon

but now they are stacked beside the planters of mums and fountains.

Pumpkin Topiary - Fall Mum - Fountain - Housepitality Designs

I love the sound of running water …. so calming.

I created this fountain using an ordinary garden container and

pond/fountain parts from Smart Pond that you can buy at Lowe’s … fountain tutorial here.

Talk about tradition, this garden bunny has sat on my porch for almost 12 years.

It was a housewarming present from great friends.

Another tradition is this Welcome Friends Pumpkin with the pineapple design.

I found this when vacationing with friends many years ago

and I carried this pumpkin on the plane ride home.

At one end of the porch you will find a bench

that is usually adorned with seasonal pillows.

Fall Front Porch - Marigolds - Housepitality Designs

This year I draped the bench with a throw in which was my inspiration

for the colors I was going to use on the porch.

A combination of Fall plantings fill a plant container on the table.

Fall Front Porch - Housepitality Designs

A plant marker that says “JOY” is always placed in the container of

flowers or plants on this table. More tradition.

If you notice, I usually decorate one side of each wreath.

Another tradition (I have many) is going to my favorite privately owned garden center

to get my mums. They are very healthy, very reasonably priced,

and I love the fact that the owner grows his own mums.

I know my family will love the colors of my Fall porch and wreaths this year

of the colors of orange and blue ….. Go Gators! 🙂

That is too funny that you hauled that adorable pumpkin on a plane, I would have too. Your Fall Hydrangea Wreaths are beautiful – love the colors and how you used a throw for your inspiration. I’m green with envy that you can grow hydrangeas. I finally got little tiny blooms for the first time this summer (there is hope). Your Fall porch is very warm and inviting too. Pinning to share 🙂

Well, this porch is SO beautiful and welcoming!!!! I wish I could walk to your front door and ring the bell!!!! The wreaths are gorgeous and here is a little tip. When I was making custom wreaths or arrangements and we didn’t have the right color flowers, I would simple spray paint them!!!! Start out just kinda spritzing them lightly and add more if you want. I even did 2 colors sometimes to make it really custom. I love your pumpkin with the pineapple. I am having a great time at the beach. Just got home from a little retail therapy:):) We are here til Sat.!
