An Amazing Room at the Inn

We very recently took a trip to Martha’s Vineyard.

I have never been there and it has been on my bucket list for some time now.

Upon great recommendations, we booked our stay at The Charlotte Inn in Edgartown.

It was breathtaking from the time you entered  this most exquisite Inn.

I was on visual overload of all of the stunning rooms and antiques throughout the inn.

But first, let me show you the room where we stayed.

As soon as you enter the room, there is such a sense of calm and warmth,

that makes you immediately want to relax and take your shoes off!!

Beautiful antique brass andirons …

and I found out what special paste they used to clean all of their metals.

Want to know? …. Maas Metal Paste.

The artwork in this room  was exquisite as was all of the artwork throughout the inn.

There were a few wonderful antique trophies in the room.

This little alcove housed the TV and the sweet chair and the

antique riding boots and boot forms.

This antique four poster Barley Twist bed is exquisite.

It also had a wood paneled canopy.

Just across the door  to the room, is this beautiful antique hall tree

adorned with lovelies such as vintage hats. You can see the room’s fireplace in the mirror.

When you enter the room, to the right you will find

a small antique cabinet to greet you with an antique bowl filled with mints.

Just beyond the front door on the right is the beautiful bathroom.

Plush towels …. toiletries by Bulgari and Hermes …. yes, Hermes soap!

And here is what we saw out of our windows….

Part of the magnificent courtyard.

They mentioned that the gardens were not as beautiful now due to the change

in the season…..I surely wish my gardens looked like this in their peak!

There is a magnificent potting shed that I could see from our window.

It is a working potting shed and filled with amazing garden antiques.

Can you tell I loved this Inn and our room?!!

More to amazing rooms to show you soon…

But in the meantime …. I will leave you with something that I will

put on my list for our next home … a fireplace in the bedroom.

it’s the moments that take your breath away”

Oh Shirley, this is just gorgeous – more, more, please! The bathroom is an Art Deco dream for me. Maas paste is what I use also. 🙂 After seeing both Pam’s and your photos, I would definitely want to stay there if I ever go to Martha’s Vineyard again.

The room is stunning for sure, but it was the bathroom that took my breath away…Martha’s Vineyard is lovely from the moment you step on the ferry for the ride there. A magical place.

Shirley, This is one of our favorite places to stay on the Vineyard and the breakfasts in the courtyard are also wonderful! I think it’s too cold now for that but I agree the grounds are beautiful. I’m so glad you had the chance to visit this wonderful Inn! Can’t wait to see the rest of your pictures! Linda

You spoke my sentiments exactly in your closing. What a gorgeous room! No cutting corners here, total elegance and comfort.
I think I will leave the floral drapes in my middle room for a while. I keep hearing they are dated and they really are but after seeing this post, I have changed my mind.
