How do you decorate a porch in the South? You use Magnolia leaves!
My inspiration for the Christmas porch theme this year
were these beautiful fresh wreaths from Lynch Creek Farm
that were embellished with magnolia leaves.
Welcome to my Southern Magnolia Christmas Porch.
I sent my hubby to several garden centers to look for a Magnolia tree.
So what did I do?
I made my own Magnolia tree! It is my Lulu Tree for this year.
Rudy is not on the porch this year. But his sister is!
Meet Rudyanne! She is wearing a grapevine wreath embellished with
Magnolia leaves and a strand of cotton. The southern pearls!
A tall slim un-lit faux Christmas tree was placed in the garden container.
Thanks to the generosity of my neighbor who has a magnificent Magnolia tree,
I was able to obtain some wonderful magnolia leaves.
Leaves were hot glued to the tree branches.
And there you have it, A Magnolia Christmas Tree!
Rudyanne loves the tree so much that she has taken residence by the tree.
Magnolia leaves were also added to the garland around the doors.
I added Magnolia leaves to the swag of fresh winter greens
and placed it on my antique Flexible Flyer sled.
To add some color to the porch, I placed poinsettias by the doors and the steps.
A container filled with poinsettias and various house plants
seemed to be the perfect thing for the table alongside the lantern.
Flickering candle by Balsam Hill.
The Williamsburg Hospitality pillows brought out from my stash to place on the settee
to add a little more Southern flair.
Large ornaments hung from the ceiling of the porch as they have been
for the past several years.
Our cooler weather at night forces me to bring the poinsettias indoors.
But it is worth it as when the sun comes up in the morning,
they come on to the porch again, making it festive and making me smile!
Thanks for visiting my Southern Porch of Magnolias.
And COME BACK TOMORROW for the 12 Days of Holiday Homes Holiday Homes Link Party
where you can link up your Holiday Home!
I am fluffing 2 additional rooms in the house. Getting ready for guests
and the festivities of the Season of Joy!
Have a most Merry Day!!
Note: The beautiful wreaths (Majestic Magnolia) were sent to me
by the fine folks at Lynch Creek Farm. All rave reviews are entirely and
joyfully my own!
