Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful start to 2017!
My start to the New Year in my home is a New Year’s Blue and White Sunroom.
Actually I should say accents of blue and white,
as the wicker is a celery green in color.
But what goes well with green? …. blue!
My inspiration piece or pieces were this bowl
that I got on clearance at HomeGoods. There were actually two of these so
they both jumped into my cart.
And the second inspiration piece was this gorgeous Murano vase,
that is a Christmas gift from my friend Linda.
She and her hubby traveled to Italy last year and she bought
this gorgeous vase from the Vecchia Murano Glass Factory.
It’s a beauty!
I shopped the house for blue and white pieces.
This particular piece was in the master bedroom with a white feather tree in it for Christmas.
A preserved boxwood topiary now fills the container.
If you remember my Blue and White Christmas Master Bedroom,
you will see that I brought the pillows from the bedroom to the sunroom.
The blue and white lamp shuffled from the Great Room
to the side/magazine table between the chair and the loveseat.
The Potting Bench was adorned with more blue and white.
The plant was originally in the Master Bath, but changes were made
in the dining room, so the two plants found a home in the sunroom.
A set of stacked ironstone bowls hold precious pear candles
that my Sweetie gifted to me.
Now, how did I stack them?
I used a square sauce dish and inverted them to use as a pedestal.
My antique Pie Safe used to be in this corner.
To make room for the Christmas tree in the Sunroom,
it was placed in the kitchenette of the Media Room.
I decided to leave it in the kitchenette and filled the space with
a lingerie chest that was formerly in the guest room.
Lots of dancing to the Furniture Shuffle going on here!
What a change from one month to the other in this room
that was recently filled with the Traditions of Christmas.
I love the crisp look of the blue and white accessories
in my sunroom of green. To beat the winter blahs,
I shall always keep the bowl of white hydrangeas that remind me of
snowballs. … Speaking of snowballs, I cannot wait for my Snowball Viburnum to bloom again.
And, also continue to keep the white roses in my new gorgeous Murano vase.
That elegant vase definitely deserves roses!
It was a rainy day here on New Year’s Day and more rain expected today,
with talk of some snow coming our way this month.
So how do you fight the Winter blahs? With fresh flowers and bright colors
in your home like me? Possibly the warmth and glow of candles?
I wish you a very beautiful day …. and again, Happy New Year!!!
