If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my farmhouse sink
filled with a variety of pink flowers from Trader Joe’s.
That is how I easily added pink to my decor. I added pink flowers
to celebrate Valentine’s Day and to add a happy color to the rooms on these winter days.
I purchased Calla Lillies, Cyclamen, Roses, and Hydrangeas
and placed them in vases and containers throughout the house.
Today, you will see them in the Great Room.
The other day, I was going through some magazines
to either place in the recycle bin or donate them.
I ran across this French Style magazine and noticed all of the pink. Hmmmm.
So I added pink flowers to my Trader Joe’s grocery list.
After adding the pink Cyclamen that was transferred from the plastic pot
to a blue and white rice bowl to the table, I started working on the mantel.
The breadboards remain on the mantel. The winter birds are stored away for another year
and a cast iron Ram has replaced them.
Calla Lillies were placed with their original plastic pots intact
into my white reticulated ginger jars.
Reindeer Moss was placed at the base of the plant to hide the soil and rim of the pot.
As you can see, I have not changed out my Winter pillows yet.
I am searching for some pillows that will speak Spring.
Another pink Cyclamen was placed into a porcelain bowl
that I have had for 36 years! I purchased it from a family member
who was selling Avon back in the late 70’s, early ’80’s.
This piece has a date of 1981 on it … Made in Japan . . . like me! 🙂
Now I was wondering what that shiny green thing was in the lower left hand
portion of the photo below …. Turns out that it is a leaf from a plant
that is on the table next to the sofa!
I also purchased more small hydrangea plants. I placed one in the Chinoiserie crock
using the same method that I had done with the placement and
embellishment of the plants in the ginger jars on the mantel.
While I was searching for porcelain bowls to place the pink flowering plants in,
I came across this pretty cranberry glass basket. Perfect for the white roses.
It’s wonderful to be able to add some brightly colored flowers such as this pink
that can transform the feel and freshness of a room.
There will be more to come on how I added pink to my home.
It’s my way of looking forward to the Joys of Spring.
And on another note:
