I took a little break ….
So I will let you know what I’ve been up to and revealing a little secret.
What have I been up to? …. I traveled to California with my hubby.
He had a conference there and we decided to take a few extra days
to enjoy the beautiful Southern California Coast.
Our balcony view at the Monarch Beach Resort. Not too shabby!
We experienced many great places, restaurants, and people!
Some of the places included gardens.
Like these. More to come on where this garden was.
We had time to visit the home of one of my hubby’s colleagues.
The spouse of the colleague had a vast collection of amazing
antique sports memorabilia and invited my hubby to see his collection.
When we entered their home, I could see straight through to their back yard
and I stopped in my tracks when I saw this:
This pergola! With a fireplace! The pergola of my dreams.
Exactly what I want to have in our next home.
I have been describing this pergola to my hubby for years
and now he was actually able to see it without having to just envision it.
And of course, the pool in the foreground is definitely on the list for him . . . .
a small lap pool for exercise that is, not a full size pool like this one.
Ok. So we covered some places so let’s move on to some people.
I was thrilled to have been able to meet and have a great time
with the lovely, sweet and talented
and feature writer for shelter magazines such as Romantic Homes, Victoria and more.
We met for dinner one evening along with our hubbies
and the next day Lidy and I spent the day antique shopping (go figure).
The dinner and day out with Lidy was one of the highlights of my trip.
She is a real treasure!
Lidy so graciously gifted me with this beautiful and exquisitely scented candle.
I have always wanted one of her famous candles!
I will have more posts of my California visit later.
However, in the meantime, I will let you in on a little secret that I been keeping.
Now believe me, it is certainly not earth shattering,
but something I am very excited about.
No, it’s not a book deal or a magazine feature. LOL!
I will give you a hint. It is something that is most used in the house.
The Dauphne Queen Canopy Bed (in Beach House Natural) !!!
I have “dreamed” about this bed ever since I saw it at the High Point Market.
It is hard to find a dealer of Eloquence in my area and I discovered
that Lidy is one of the Eloquence dealers!
I told my hubby how wonderful it would be to have this bed
and our Anniversary was near . . . hint, hint!
So he gifted me this bed for our Anniversary! YES!!!
I cannot wait till it arrives. Most likely in a month or so.
He asked me if there will be a domino affect . . . I sort of dodged the question.
Because . . . . .
Wouldn’t this Grande Mademoiselle Bench look great at the foot of the bed?
Or how about this . . . a pair of these gorgeous Bronte Commodes rather than a dresser.
You should see the fabulous things in Lidy’s shop from amazing antiques to linens, to
tableware to furniture …. yes ELOQUENCE!
You can see it all at her beautiful website: French Garden House.
And . . . French Garden House is having a SUMMER SALE too!
After arriving home from our California trip, we had one day to recover and then
my hubby had a tournament. Yes, that is the way we roll around here.
Never a dull moment.
Wishing you all a most beautiful day with lots of beautiful moments that are never dull!
NOTE: This is not a sponsored post.
All comments with regard to French Garden House are graciously and happily my own!!!
