I cannot leave enough alone. I was rearranging my pretties on my coffee table
and I decided to grab my antique bread basket that I found in France
and fill it with pretties.
A floral arrangement of sorts of many pretties with a wide variety of colors,
faux and natural elements, all to make a French antique basket of great textures.
My beautiful silk velvet Plush Pumpkins have made the rounds this year.
From the foyer, to the Great Room coffee table, and now some of them landed
in my antique French bread basket.
Now what could be better than beautiful pumpkins in a blueberry patch.
And what also could be better than beautiful roses in the prettiest shade of pink
to join the pumpkins of silk velvet and branches of blueberries.
When I saw these pretty roses at Trader Joe’s I knew they would complement
the purples and plums that I have in the house for Fall.
I used the floral aqua picks to house each rose stem.
The old tattered cloth basket liner just makes my heart sing!
I purchased these wonderful blueberry stems years ago when my favorite gift shop
was closing. They were 75% off …. so I bought all they had.
To enhance the arrangement of pretties even more, the tops of the acorns
(acorns also by Plush Pumpkin) and the real pumpkin stems
add yet more elements of texture.
It is going to be a very sad day when I have to pack up these gorgeous pumpkins
only to be replaced by the pretties of Christmas.
Hmmmm, I wonder if someone can invent Christmas pumpkins?!
Who can resist pretty velvet with the beauty of a rose.
It is like a rose boutonniere or corsage on a great velvet jacket.
So, have you wondered what I did with the coffee table?
A little restyling with the remaining pumpkins
and the ironstone tureen of the fabulous Autumn Joy found its way to the table.
This is proof that things never stay the same around here for long . . .
just the people are the same! A good thing!
An unexpected day trip over the weekend and a super busy day on Monday,
prevented me from working on my little project. But I will resume today and
hopefully make some “headway and footway too”.
Have a most beautiful day everyone! The temps dropped 20 degrees yesterday
when the rains came. (We really needed rain)
Maybe we shall see some sudden changing of leaves! One can dream!

Good googly goo in the morning, Shirley!!!!!!!! Magnificent!!! Just…gorgeous!

What a beautiful arrangement, Shirley! I love all the shades of purple and the blueberries look edible! The temperature dropped here, also. Maybe fall is really here.
Pretty arrangement in that old bread basket. It was cool and windy yesterday and very fall like finally. It’s even the same where we are today. 🙂

Very pretty basket arrangement. I love the purples and plums for Fall.
Soo pretty, Shirley! It looks like we are drawn to the same colors! I can’t get purples, lavenders and blues off my mind lately. You french basket is overflowing with beauty!

Gorgeous colors and arrangement! I guess you learned a thing or two from your mom. (Didn’t you say that she taught you flower arranging?) I am enjoying my Fall decor too, and I’m not ready for Christmas stuff. (Jesus, yes, but not all the hoopla. But the stores are full of it. Why can’t they let us get through Thanksgiving? I’ve decided to rebel. I’m not going to put my tree up until AFTER Thanksgiving.
Just gorgeous Shirley and proof that touches of fall don’t have to be in traditional autumn colors! I love the unexpected pairings and additions of the roses and blueberry stems. Those little plush acorns are the cutest!

Your pumpkins are absolutely beautiful! Can you tell me where I can find the stems that you used. I have been unable to find any.
It would be harder to find the stems this time of year. Check your local pumpkin patch when Autumn comes around to see if they’ll let you have the stems that have fallen off. Also, you can find them on eBay.
I’m just seeing this post in April 2019. Your arrangement in the antique french basket is gorgeous. I love every element that you used. I’ll have to make this next Fall. I make my own velvet pumpkins and look forward to creating more in the gorgeous shades of purple. Thank you for sharing.
I just stumbled across this on Pinterest and oh la la LOVE your purple velvet pumpkins! I think purple is such an elegant color for fall! Just gorgeous, I can’t believe I missed the original post! I am thinking and praying for you Shirley…
