I decided to do a bit of a Master Bedroom Refresh to slowly transition into Winter.
The bedding will have a few more tweaks as we enter into the month of December,
but for now, I thought I would transition to it in stages.
The bedding was previously all white.
I decided to add some color for Fall and Winter to come.
My inspiration were these pillows of taupe and creams.
I was the lucky winner of a giveaway from the lovely ladies at Design Chic.
The embroidered Ikat pillows from Arhaus are beautiful.
My other inspiration was the Napolean Bee pillow that I purchased
from French Garden House several months ago.
It has made the rounds in my home, from the Great Room, to the Dining Room, the Media room
and now the Master Bedroom. It is such a versatile pillow.
I purchased a pair of the Napolean Bee pillows
and the other pillow will be in a future project.
I packed many of my duvet covers for this bed away;
however, I left this one in the linen closet. It is one of my favorites.
Vanessa by Pottery Barn. It has been discontinued for quite some time now.
So how do I add a little late Fall and early Winter to my decor?
Fur …. anything fur … so these monogrammed faux fur trimmed pillows
and the faux fur throw made its way to the sofa in the sitting area.
While we are on the subject of throws. Do you place your throws on a chair or
sofa by tossing it and letting it fall gently on the furniture OR,
are you like my friend Sherri? She meticulously folds her throws (I swear she uses a ruler)
and places it on the arm or back of the furniture piece.
Is that a little “ODD”? (Obsessive Decorating Diva) Ha! I just made that up!
What do you do?
What else do you add? Feathers!
This sitting area is such a cozy spot to take a break for a little inspiration.
This area is perfect for plants as the light is wonderful.
The pair of vintage Italian gold and crystal candle holders
are a favorite in the sitting area.
I love the views that I have in the room.
From the views looking out the bay windows in the sitting area
that overlook many, many trees
in the backyard that frame the golf course . . . to my favorite porch area.
Gold accents are still predominant in the room and . . .
it’s always great to have a little blue and white too!
Love the reflection!
I scored these pretty lamps at HomeGoods a few years ago.
Since we are on the subject of reflections and mirrors …..
Here’s my gold faux bamboo framed floor mirror in the corner of the room.
I have plans for the future of this bedroom,
but “future” is the key word.
Until then, I still love this room of classic furniture mixed with some
contemporary pieces and accents and pretty patterns and textures.
Have a most wonderful weekend everyone!
I am super busy preparing for great projects/decorating for Christmas.
We bloggers have to deck the halls early!

Just beautiful Shirley…love your new pillows, fur and feather accents! I fall into the ‘pillow-tosser’ category. Sometimes they even land on the rug, falling off the bench at the foot of the bed. 🙂

Your master bedroom is gorgeous! I’m especially loving the fur accents in the throw and pillow! All beautiful!
Your bedroom, just like the rest of your house is gorgeous! Hope you are always willing to give advice to your “ODD” friend! Clearly she needs it!??❤️❤️
Absolutely lovely. So love the pillows and the fur accents. Like Grizel, I do love the color of the walls – gorgeous.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Shirley, your room looks beautiful! It has all my favorites, bees, feathers and fur. What a delightful room to wake up in every day, I would want to ring my little bell and ask “James” {imaginary butler} to arrive with a breakfast tray so I could linger in bed for a while, reading a favorite book under the covers. Gorgeous! The duvet looks beautiful! xo
This room always looks beautiful! I love the fall touches you have added. Everything looks just lovely!

Beautiful like the rest of your home!
Lovely as always Shirley! I like the framed painting above your sofa there in the bedroom. How do you hang it though? Surely there is a secret tip!
I use a 3M Command Hook.

Oh your master looks beautiful; no surprise there! Love the FUR accents, the feathers and the new pillows! As for what I do; sometimes I toss and sometimes I fold…not as meticulously as your friend though! Have a beautiful weekend. WE are going to dinner with our daughter, SIL and Colleen tomorrow night for Joe’s bday:)

Lovely room with lots of classics. I’m actually thinking of dragging out a peach pieced quilt I have in storage for Fall. Right now it is just too summery with all the green and white. Lovely—wish I had room for that cute settee. Grins, thanks, will get on my Fall–transisition right now, well maybe on monday.
Shirley, I absolutely love your views too! Oh my, so many, but that one toward the porch, and the one looking into the room with that ceiling! Your layered look is very classy and sophisticated. I actually do both with my throws – some are folded, some are placed casually. 🙂 I also have that pillow from Lidy, and I love it. It’s very versatile – can be casual or dressy. Have a great weekend. I cant imagine decorating for Christmas right now! I just emptied my container plants today, trying to stay a step ahead of rain projected Monday!

Hmmmm….I guess it depends on my mood. Sometimes I just casually (yeah, right!) toss my throws and other times I Sherri them. (Please let her know that her name is now a verb!) I’m more likely to Sherri them in summer for some reason. Weird. You’d think that’s when I’d go for the more casual vibe. Whatever the case, I have to have them all year round because Ramon gets cold ALL YEAR ROUND!!! Your bedroom is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, and I absolutely adore the monogrammed pillow! My soul must have come from the South because I like EVERYTHING monogrammed!!! I was just out looking the other day for a few pieces to “warm up” the guest bedroom. Never found exactly what floated my boat. I think it’s because I just really want to completely redecorate in there!
Shirley, I always love when you share your master…it is a stunning space! I do love all the gold accents, the fur, and feathers! As far as a throw, I do both. But most often, I just let it fall into place! Have a wonderful weekend!

Your master is beautiful and that duvet is one of my favorites! It ties together in all the colors you are using in that room. I wish they had not discontinued it! I have throws that are folded and loosely draped. Looking forward to your Christmas projects!
Your bedroom is looking very cozy for fall. Love the bee pillow. I fold my throws…:-)

I love that touch of faux fur you added! Your room is lovely…no change there. I confess…I’m a little ODD when it comes to throws too. Can’t help myself…there has to be some order to my home…lol! Enjoy your weekend! 😉
I have a question. With the euro pillows, the regular pillows with shams, then the decorative pillows, where are the pillows you sleep on. Where are they stored or are they on the bed? I never know where the actual pillows I sleep on go! Help!
They look perfect, Shirley! So happy you had the perfect spot to use them!
Shirley! This is just lovely! I’m so inspired by this. I’m about to embark on a little refresh in my master too and this little dose is exactly what I need to get the old noggin’ thinking. Thanks!

Beautiful Fall touches for your elegant bedroom. I particularly love the mixture of fabrics and patterns on the pillows and coverlet you’ve placed on your bed.
