I thought we would go down memory lane today.
To revisit my Blue and White Fall Tablescape with orange accents.
I began creating the elongated centerpiece by using a faux magnolia garland.
It is always great to have some greenery to anchor a centerpiece
to use as a base to create that long narrow look we all have grown to love.
Using a garland is a great way to start.
For the place setting, I gathered my antique Noritake china that used to belong
to my friend Martha and blue and white bowls purchased from HomeGoods.
All dishes are made in Japan (just like me!).
The faux magnolia garland also contained pinecones,
so I just had to add a few accents including some faux and real pumpkins,
some wheat stalks and some very small pinecones found
on one of my walks in my neighborhood.
For a bit of warm ambience, I added some brass candleholders
with those mesmerizing faux flickering candles.
I chose to add orange accents for a pop of color to the table.
The orange mini Kalanchoes were perfect to serve as a place card holder.
A place card tucked gently into the plant.
It seems like I only bring these napkins out at Thanksgiving.
I really think I need to use them all year round as we should be reminded
to give thanks and count our blessings every day.
I often do some “out of the box” things, as placing the silverware on a plate.
I really loved creating this table of blue and white for Fall.
I loved doing this napkin fold to accentuate the place card
and tie it into the place setting.
For many years and for many years to come, this precious little pinecone turkey
made by my “sweetie” will always be on our Thanksgiving table.
I remember the day when she so proudly gave it to me.
Actually, she has become quite the artist…winning an award last school year
for the “most artistic” for her grade level.
Do you hang on and covet those precious handmade things by your children and/or
grandchildren? I do! I still have a little Halloween ghost I put out every year
that my son so proudly made when he was 5 years old. He always says, “you still have that?”
Yes I do and one day I may have it bronzed! 🙂
Have a most beautiful day!!!

I love blue and white! Have a great day Shirley!!
As always Shirley – a lovely, lovely post. I am a blue and white girl, so I do love the blue and white. I especially love your pretty napkins.
Fall is moving too quickly – have a great week!
I forgot one thing – love how you used the small plant as a place card holder. A nice touch, plus a bit of color.
Very pretty Shirley. I am seeing a lot of blue in Fall and Thanksgiving decor this year and love it. The orange hues of the season really pop against it.
Very pretty table. I also save those sentimental items made by my children and my granddaughter. Such great memories! I think that’s what makes our decorating special.
I love this table! The blue and white is beautiful and orange always goes with blue and white! I look forward to when Colleen makes me some cute things at school that I can treasure too. have a beautiful day. We lost our power earlier but it is back now:)
Blue and orange are a great color combo for fall. Your table setting is wonderful.
Not only children’s things. I have leaves my father cut out of different types of wood and turkeys he made. He has been gone 25 years but his always on the Thanksgiving table!
Beautiful! I too have a pine cone turkey that my son made as well as a ceramic duck pin I wear at Easter – though he is 25 now.
I love your Fall tablescape Shirley! I really love the the references to thankfulness on your napkins and placecards. I’ve probably kept way too many items that mean so much to me, but I just can’t part with them.
Always nice to be reminded of a beautiful table. Yes…I’ve kept quite a few of the little treasures that my sons have made…the ones that held together, that is! Those are the things that help to make the holidays special! 😉
I love the blue and white accented with orange for Thanksgiving. Most of us just don’t have room to store ‘special holiday ‘ serving pieces. I really like how just accenting with seasonal color can really set the holiday mood without going over board and incorporates the serving pieces we may already own. Just swapping out the pumpkins and using red accents could move this into Christmas !!! I wish that 41 years ago I had chosen blue and white for my ‘good china’ and not the flower sprigged Minton which is lovely but not so suitable for Fall/ Winter.
Ahhh how I love how you put everything together. It is truly eye candy.
Your tablescape is beautiful Shirley and I too am a lover of blue and white! I have it in every room of my house! I love all your special touches, especially the sentimental ones! I have a pinecone turkey as well and placecards made by my daughter when she was about 8 years old….that was her favorite thing to do for every holiday! She is now 33! I hope you have a wonderful week!
Blue and white remains my favorite for any season! Perfect in every way…Happy Wednesday, Shirley!
So classically beautiful! I remember this tablescape, and it is still enchanting!
Thank your for the sweet repeat of your beautiful blue & white fall table! ♥
Such a beautiful table! You know I love blue and white. What a precious idea, with the potted flowers used as place cards. I may borrow that idea. I treasure the holiday items my children made when they were younger. My oldest is 20, and I still get his homemade ornaments out every year. Happy weekend, sweet friend!
Thank you for this repeat, I loved this beautiful table the first time around, and I adore it this time. This is such a welcoming table, and your sweetie’s pine cone turkey makes it especially heart warming, Shirley. I treasure the holiday things my kids and grandkids made for us, styrofoam spaceships in the tree, sweet little squiggles on cardboard shapes, and “I’m thankful for” drawings at Thanksgiving. Like you, those are the decorations that really matter most to me.
Loved it before and love it again. ??
I am a blue and white lover, too. Your table is lovely. I especially like the pine cone turkey your son made. Those type of things money can’t buy!
