It’s the most wonderful time of the year. . .
and that means lots of planning and decorating to make it wonderful
for our family and friends.
I have started working on a few trees and I thought that maybe you would like to know,
how I decorate my Christmas Tree with ribbon and another tip. . .
a ribbon garland tutorial.
There are so many ways to adorn a Christmas Tree with ribbon and or garland.
My favorite way to decorate my tree is by using strands of ribbon
weaved in and out of the tree with pretty cut tails.
I start with a strand of ribbon about 18 inches long
and make a loop at the top using floral wire (24 gauge)
I usually start at the top using looped strands and go down the tree
connecting other strands with and without loops.
All the loops you see at the top of the tree are single looped strands.
I attach it to a branch and then take another piece of wire about 3/4 of the way
down from the stand and attach another strand of ribbon with a loop.
It is a sort of connecting the dots.
I also take a strand of ribbon (your desired length) and attach it to the
strand with the loop to make another “tail” which will go in another direction
from the other strand.
I also will take another looped strand and attach it to another looped strand
to form a double loop.
You can see below how the strands are connected.
I took these photos with the lights on the tree . . . so pretty.
However, the tree also looks very pretty without the lights.
And . . . here is another tip/trick that I use.
I love to attach my ornaments right up to the branch rather than them
dangling from a string of sorts.
I usually use floral wire as it is green and it is hidden in the green of the branches.
With this flocked tree of white, I used the wire of inexpensive ribbon.
This ribbon happens to be white, but you can use any inexpensive ribbon as long as
the wire is white. It is like using a thin pipe cleaner.
I just cut the wire away from the ribbon and cut the desired length.
As you can see, the wire disappears into the branch and all you see is the ornament.
I am busy decking the halls to get the house ready for the holiday posts and tours
which are coming up soon.
I am a little behind as I spent last week in Florida, Ft. Myers to be exact.
My hubby had a Baseball tournament. The Roy Hobbs World Series.
It was much warmer there. I think as we drove back home
the temperature dropped almost 40 degrees!
Yes, I am decking the halls but trying to use some constraint in not to over do it.
That is a bit hard for me!

Great tutorial and I’ll just watch you adorn your tree with that beautiful ribbon. Smart idea using the white wire from that ribbon. I went ahead and used the floral wire on mine and the wires really don’t show so it should all be good. Can’t wait to see your tree complete!

I love your flocked tree. I have used ribbon on my tree for many years and it is nice to see how you do it. I like your idea of using the wire from the ribbon to hang ornaments. I never would have thought to do that!

I got a green one as I have so much invested in ornaments etc. I really can’t change it much. Can'[t wait to see yours all done!!!!
