All I have to say is better late than never!
It seems like I had been working on many Christmas trees this year,
that I did not have much time to decorate the porch.
Early in December, I placed the wreaths on the door.
I finally put the finishing touches on the porch, making sure not to overdo it!
So for my last post of this Christmas season, I present, The Christmas Porch.
The vintage Flexible Flyer sled that I have had for close to 3 decades
made its way back to the porch this year, as Rudy came indoors.
I have a very large stash of garlands and swags and used one of them
to place on the sled.
The lanterns return to the porch.
I was not certain if I wanted to hang the ornaments
from the ceiling of the porch this year, but we decided to do so
as we both love them.
It has been cold here lately, so this pillow
is certainly appropriate for the porch bench.
I love the way that the poinsettias give a pop of color to the porch;
however, on very cold nights, they have to be brought into the garage to keep them warm.
You may have seen a peek of the wreath on the image above that is on the window.
I place large wreaths on each of the windows
(with the exception of the windows on the porch) on the front of the house.
Even the coach lights above the garage doors get a wreath.
I was striving this year to make the porch feel warm and welcoming
without being too “overdone”.
Making the wreaths be the star to welcome family and friends.
So from my porch to yours . . . .
I wish you all a VERY MERRY AND BLESSED CHRISTMAS!!!
I am taking a little bit of a break to prepare for my Christmas festivities
and last minute shopping.
May your Christmas be Very Merry and Bright and filled with the joy
of being with your loved ones!

Merry Christmas. I can not belueve your house didnt sale 5 minutes after going on the market! Beautiful and so well done.
Well you certainly achieved your objective Shirley. Very welcoming. I just can’t help but wonder how conflicted you must be this year with your home on the market. I remember last Christmas feeling that way, wanting to pull back so the house could actually be seen thru all the holiday decor while at the same time wanting to pull out all the stops since it was our last Christmas there. Mercy. We did send our kids home with tons of decorations and then I was brutal going through the rest while packing it back into the bins which paid off when the move happened and I haven’t really missed what was eliminated this year even though our house is actually bigger. God has BIG plans for you, GOOD plans so enjoy and embrace this season with His strength.
Merry Christmas dear Shirley. Your home looks festive, you have decorated it with such elegance and grace. I wish you and your family a beautiful, memory-making Christmas. xo Lidy
