it's all about the hospitable home

Deep in the Heart of Texas

Where have I been?

You guessed it . . . Deep in the Heart of Texas!

Last week I traveled with my hubby who was attending a sales conference in Dallas.

As soon as I knew I was traveling to the Dallas area,

I immediately emailed Stacey of Poofing the Pillows and asked if we could meet.

I had a most fabulous time and you will have to wait and see the blogger photo

at the end of this post, as some of the best is saved for last.

In the meantime, I will show you some photos of a beyond amazing,

keep the tissue in your hand to catch drool, kind of shop!

After our stay in Dallas we had a couple of days to visit my friend Martha.

If you are a regular reader, you have seen me write about Martha,

the ever so talented one who I call the “Real Martha”.

Martha and Me-Housepitality Designs

While we were in the Houston area, we  drove to Round Top.

I had never been there, but Martha has many times

as she used to sell her antique linens at the Round Top shows.

There was an antique show at the Big Red Barn; however,

Martha (and her daughter in law, Shari)

thought that I would love this shop, called Leftovers and it was the first stop

on our Round Top adventure.

The minute I walked through the doors of the shop, I was mesmerized

by all of the amazing beauty in every square inch of this shop.

After seeing all of these wonderful swans, it made me want to paint mine gray!

LeftoversShop-Housepitality Designs-5

There were new things and exquisite American and European antiques to purchase.

Antique furnishings, lighting, accessories and more.

The rooms/areas were so exquisitely decorated/staged throughout the shop.

LeftoversShop-Housepitality Designs-7

Every cabinet/shelves were beautifully adorned with the prettiest of the prettiest!

LeftoversShop-Housepitality Designs-6

I noticed that the antique horses were abundant.

So much beautiful transferware of all colors to be seen.

LeftoversShop-Housepitality Designs-10

And these antique French candlesticks were truly more beautiful in person.

LeftoversShop-Housepitality Designs-9

More pretties . . . I think if you had something in mind to purchase,

you could find it there!

LeftoversShop-Housepitality Designs-12

Copper anyone?!! Seeing these made me wish I had bought more copper pots

in France as they were truly super reasonable.

LeftoversShop-Housepitality Designs-2

There was also rooms filled with the most gorgeous linens, many  from Europe.

The sales person told me that they were one of the exclusive vendors of a particular

brand of French linens.

Do you know how much I wanted to tote these spectacular antique urns home?

I do not think they would have fit in the overhead bin of the plane.

It was a wonderful day and there is more to share with you.

We certainly crammed a lot of visits, etc in such a short time.

When in Dallas I met up with a High School friend and I will share that soon too.

But for now, I want to take the time to thank sweet Stacey from Poofing the Pillows

for organizing a great meet up of bloggers in the area. I had not met any face to face

with the exception of the adorable Julie from Lilacs and Longhorns. So great to see her again.

So here we are . . . nine Home Decor and DIY bloggers having fun!

The photo was taken at Pottery Barn in Southlake, Texas.

Barbara with French Ethereal

Carol with Blue Sky at Home

This is one of the things about blogging that I love the most . . . .

the most beautiful friendships and fellowship. It makes my heart happy!

And . . . a big thank you to Laura for gifting us all with her beautiful homemade bath salts

that were Valentine pink! …… and Stacey for the delicious and pretty Valentine cookie

that I believe everyone ate on their way home! . . . I know I did!!

Stay tuned for more of my Deep in the Heart of Texas trip!

Have a most beautiful day making someone smile! . . . That day they all made me smile . . a lot!

On another note: I want to wish my friend Mary Alice from Chateau Chic a very Happy Birthday!

This is an awful iPhone photo taken when I first met Mary Alice.

Kim (Savvy Southern) and I (with hubbies in tow) traveled to Lucketts a few years ago and this

is when I first met Mary Alice in person. Our photo taken when all three couples met

for dinner after a long day at Lucketts. Happy Birthday Mary Alice!

Oh, what a shop!!! I would have passed out from all the beauties. Too bad you couldn’t bring anything big home with you. I recognized almost every blogger you were with. It’s so much fun to be around other bloggers who get what we do.

Happy Birthday to Mary Alice! That was such a fun trip when we went to Luckett’s.
