Sunroom Refresh with Blue and White and More

Hello everyone! It’s Floral Friday!

I had planned to do something in my dining room for this week’s post;

however, after trip to my favorite Consignment Shop, Always Home in Durham, NC.,

I decided to put that on hold and use my treasures that I found at the shop.

So today, I present a Sunroom Refresh with Blue and White and more.

Found treasures?! . . . Yes! Oh Happy Day!

A trio of blue and white pieces just came into the shop.

Two vases and one ginger jar. They have a hallmark on the bottom; however, it is

is blurred and I cannot read it even with a magnifying glass.

Underneath the hallmark (a crown shape and serial numbers)

is the name of the design (I assume) of “Cobalt Flower.”

So if anyone knows the manufacturer of Cobalt Flower, please let me know!

It’s a very pretty pattern and the bird is what caught my eye!

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, I thought pretty shades of pink roses

would be appropriate to place in the ginger jar.

In addition to this trio of vases and a ginger jar,

I found a couple more blue and white pieces that had to come home with me.

A crock with a dragon design . . . . .

and a sweet round lidded piece that has tiny holes in the lid,  in a lattice pattern.

I am thinking it is a potpourri or incense container.

Both pieces have the same design.

Pink tulips seemed to be the perfect thing to place in the crock.

I also placed my pretty vintage blue and white pitcher that I found in Florida

on the potting bench and filled it with the pink tulips too!

A few minor changes made in the sunroom. I have a bad case of Spring Fever!!

A blue and white pitcher that was formerly in the master bathroom,

was placed on the magazine side table.

You may have noticed that my black candlesticks are missing from the potting bench.

They will be a future project.

The pillows remain the same as previously shown in a past blog post.

Loving the crisp, classic and fresh look of the blue and white in the sunroom.

You may have noticed a magazine on the bottom shelf of the coffee table.

It is the latest issue of “Flower.” I LOVE that magazine!!!

Are you familiar with and experienced that “domino effect” when one thing comes into a room,

that many changes and tweaks occur?  That was indeed the case for the potting bench.

Well, it was a pleasant “domino effect” for this room.

So happy with my new treasures and even thinking of where they could land

when I feel the need to dance to the “Vignette Shuffle”

Have a most beautiful day and weekend making your own kind of music,

singing your own special song and making someone smile!

  2. Your sunroom is such a happy room and I enjoy all the refresh and tweaking posts with new treasures.
The bird caught my eye also ! I share your love for blue and white. Just yesterday I pulled out two blue and white plates that had been sitting in a cabinet. One of them had a very similar bird with flowers. On the back it is called” Chinese Mongolia” and is made in England. There are so many patterns and it is fun to learn.
You scored big with these very useful vases. They will work well in many groupings. The top to the ginger jar is beautiful!

And yes, I would think potpourri is what is intended for the piece with the holes. The sunroom looks beautiful and I love how the potting bench looks! have a beautiful weekend. WE are off to the Dr. again for monitor results. I also think roses were the perfect flower as it looks like a rose next to the bird.

We have a screened in porch which someday I would love to make into a sunroom but for now it can only be enjoyed April through October. Thanks, a very cherry and refreshing room, have a wonderful weekend.

  22. The potting bench arrangement is terrific!!! You nailed that, for sure! I like the way you added a liberal dose of bright, happy flowers to liven things up. I’m such a huge, huge fan of blue and white, and I’m hoping that domino effect will take hold when I finally get able to change some things around here post-Christmas. This has given me great inspiration!

  23. Oh the sunroom is so pretty with the blue and white and the pops of pink with the fresh flowers. They just give you hope that spring will come. You arranged them so beautifully too.

  24. Nancy Davies says

    So pretty!

  25. Looks beautiful. I love how effortlessly the patterns in the room play together even though they’re so different.

  26. We used similar blue vases at our son’s rehearsal dinner and have three I love and a bowl. I may have to have flowers weekly now to fill one or two after seeing yours. And, do you have a source for your rug? Like it too!

  27. I love this style, it’s both classic and modern. The drawings on the vases remind me of old Japanese drawings, very beautiful. It really provides a spring vibe to the entire room. Too bad these won’t survive long at my house, everyone at my house is ery clumsy and they will get wrecked for sure. I stopped buying nice things after my daughter managed to break a whole set of porcelain plates once. She was fine, thank to God, but the beautiful plates were goners.
