Welcome to Floral Friday!
Today it is all about A Spring Dish Garden.
It all started with a new bowl by Pottery Barn.
The large double handle bowl from the Sonoma Vase Collection.
It reminded me a little bit of the French Tian bowl (without the handles).
The Tian was mainly used to make Cassoulets, Ratatouille, and
storing fruits and vegetables to name a few of its purposes.
I placed this bowl on the dining room table knowing that I wanted to place some
pretty Spring flowers in it.
A trip to Trader Joe’s yielded a cart full of flowers and pots of
Spring flowers. Small pots of Purple Hyacinths and Pink Cyclamen caught my eye!
I placed the pots in the bowl to see it they would fit.
In order to place these plants in the bowl I had to remove them from their pots
and place them in the bowl lined with plastic to protect the bowl.
A trio of water hyacinth placemats to create a “runner”
were placed under the dish garden for added texture.
A jewel box bird sits upon the sheet moss.
Did I mention that this post is brought to you in part by my friend Sherri?
She had a Pottery Barn coupon she was not going to use and she let me have it
to use toward purchasing the bowl. 🙂
You don’t see the Fiddle Leaf Tree in the above image,
as I removed it for this photo …. it was competing with the Dish Garden.
Now it’s back!
Two of the plants in the dish garden are Cyclamen.
I purchased two large White Cyclamen in November and they are still going strong.
My dining room is not formal by any means,
so this sweet dish garden fits in well.
I can see a cute bunny for Spring or Easter in this bowl too.
Now where did I put that bunny?!!
Thank you for your visit to Floral Friday.
I wish you all a most beautiful weekend.
On a side note:
It’s hard to think about a beautiful weekend,
when we are all so very, very heartbroken over the horrific event in Florida.
I did not live very far from that city where this unspeakable act happened.
I will continue to keep my thoughts and prayers with the victims and families
affected by this senseless, senseless, act.
Thanks again for visiting me today.
