My hubby rarely sits on the sofa and watches T.V.
Once he sits, he is usually sleeping in less than a minute.
However; one evening he wanted to see an event in the Olympics,
so he sat next to me and stated, “I can’t see the T.V. . . . the orchid is too tall!’
I then decided that A Quick Change Vignette was in order.
I also have a Giveaway for you today . . . details are at the end of the post.
I took the orchid away . . . a rule in this household is that I handle
the orchids if they need to be moved. My hubby tried to help me move an orchid one day,
and he accidentally broke it. One that I had for years. He felt so bad.
I relocated the orchid and the next day I was off to Trader Joe’s to buy some flowers.
The tulips were beautiful . . . so many colors to choose from.
Since the tulips were going into the Great Room, shades of purple were the best choice.
Purple stock flowers and eucalyptus were added to the tulips.
I had this bowl of dried roses on another table
and thought it would look great in the new vignette.
I have found that spray roses dry rather nicely.
I cleared the table to start over to do my quick change vignette.
Other than it taking about 15 minutes to place the flowers in the
blue and white crock, it took about 10 minutes to collect and arrange
the new vignette.
I placed the pagoda lantern candleholder on the table to add a pop of shine,
color and texture. Love mixing metals with glass or porcelain.
When creating a vignette, I usually have a checklist in my head
of textures to add . . . paper/books, metals, wood, softness as with flowers,
Do you remember my Spring Dish Garden that I created last week?
Well the hyacinths have grown so tall!
So tall that I had to stake them using willow branches.
Here is what it looked like before:
Seemed like it grew overnight!
