Floral Friday Easter Basket Centerpiece

Happy Friday everyone!

It is a happy day because it is Floral Friday,

when I join three of my wonderfully

talented blogger friends

to give you some great floral inspiration.

Today, for your enjoyment and ideas

for using flowers for Easter, is my

Floral Friday Easter Basket Centerpiece

FloralFriday

I had packed away most of my baskets,

so I was hard pressed to find

a basket for my centerpiece.

I was shopping the house and for some reason,

something made me look up

and there it was . . .  on the ledge over the door with other large baskets.

Whew! One that did not get packed and stored.

Vintage Basket-Housepitality Designs

I found a bowl to place in the basket

so that I can fill it with floral foam.

A perfect fit . . . a Lenox pasta bowl.

Do you see something familiar?

Easter Centerpiece-Housepitality Designs-4

They’re baaaack . . . the Bunnies with the Golden Egg. 🙂

Easter Centerpiece-Housepitality Designs-11

Do you see ears peeking through the flowers?

Easter Centerpiece-Housepitality Designs

I placed one of the bunnies on the handle of the basket

using a thick layer of poster putty to adhere it to the handle.

Rather than using a runner or a tablecloth, I used a pretty scarf

that my friend Linda gifted to me

(a gift from her Italy trip).

The idea recently came from my friend and fellow

Floral Friday contributor, Pam (Everyday Living).

All of the flowers come from

the wonderful Trader Joe’s.

Cream colored roses, yellow and

cream alstroemerias, pink tulips,

pink Stock,  eucalyptus for filler,

and unknown pink petite flowers on woody stems.

The scarf was gently arranged around the basket.

I had so much fun making this Easter Basket arrangement.

Easter Centerpiece-Housepitality Designs-2

I have to admit that I tweaked it a few times.

The basket is large and initially

the arrangement turned out quite large.

Can you imagine it being larger?!

I cut the stems down a bit,

tweaked it here and there as you would

a vignette with  too much stuff,

or taking away one piece of jewelry from an outfit.

Gorgeous basket and blooming arrangement Shirley! I love your combination of flowers with the roses, alstroemeria and stock and your scarf complements it beautifully. Your delicate pink flowers are wax flowers and they are the perfect filler! I love the addition of your bunnies and the one that hopped on top of your handle. I hadn’t noticed your architectural fragment in the background on your wall before…what a wonderful accent and bracket to frame your little painting. Thank so much for the floral inspiration this week, I’m honored to included. ♥

Gosh, that is so stunning, Shirley! I can’t believe how perfectly that Lenox bowl fit into that basket! I love seeing things repurposed. The scarf goes perfectly, and those bunnies are getting lots of mileage in your home this season! Hoppy Friday!

What a beautiful arrangement! You should be a pro. The unknown flower is wax flower, we used it a lot at the florist. It lasts quite awhile. Glad the bunnies are back and love the one peeking out;) Have a beautiful weekend.

That is a gorgeous arrangement. The scarf is beautiful and adds the perfect colors.
I finally have a Trader Joe’s close to me. I have read so many times how you and other bloggers buy your flowers there. I plan to visit that store often. Their prices are amazing.

Shirley, Your arrangement is lovely. I’ve enjoyed your little bunnies used in several ways. Glad you found a basket and yes, it is big but you made a great arrangement. So cute how you tucked the bunnies around and how your scarf added softness and texture around your basket. So pretty!

Lovely Spring Floral arrangement. The little pink flower is Wax Flower. It has a delightful citrus scent when the leaves and stems are rubbed! As a floral designer it is one of my favorite filler flowers.
