Where have I been?
I traveled to the Napa Valley Region with my hubby,
where we attended the Circle of Excellence trip that my hubby was awarded by his company.
We stayed at the incredible Calistoga Ranch, in Calistoga, California.
Since we were already in that beautiful area, we decided to stay a couple of extra days,
and travel south to Capitola-by-the-Sea
where we stayed at the beautiful Inn at Depot Hill.
All the rooms in the Inn are representative
of the ambience of beautiful destinations in the world.
Our room . . . . whispered of the wonderful country of Holland.
Welcome to the Delft Room.
As you enter through the door, beautifully tucked to your left is this bench.
A bench just like in some of our homes,
to place your belongings that you carry into the house
and a place to sit and put on or take off your shoes.
As you enter through the archway (seen on the right of this image)
from the little foyer, you enter into the sitting area.
But this is what caught my eye!
The fireplace with the Delft tiles.
I wanted to immediately snuggle under the throw on the chaise.
And later sit with a great read on this window bench,
under the charming lace curtains and gorgeous balloon shade.
Just love the pattern of the window treatments in this room.
And the bed . . . .
The bed is next to the pretty french doors
that lead out to your private patio.
Around the corner of the patio is a private hot tub that we never had the time to use.
Too busy seeing the sights!
Love the idea of setting Delft tiles into the brick paver patio.
Happy Hour starts at 5 p.m. I chose to have my “happy hour” by the fire.
One morning we chose to have breakfast by the fire . . .
As I stated previously, we had such a great time during our visit to California.
I have more beautiful things to share about the Inn and more.
That will be coming soon.
And also my story about my FRENCH MARKET BASKET NIGHTMARE!
Stay tuned for THAT story too!
It is so great to travel and see many beautiful places,
but there is no place like home too!
Have a most beautiful day everyone!!!

P.S. I did not want to pack my rather heavy camera,
therefore, all photos were taken from my iPhone.

What a pretty and cozy looking room. Love the tiles around the fireplace. Y’all picked a wonderful place for those extra couple of days.

Ooh I love the way the room was decorated. Definitely like the window treatments too! Congratulations to your husband- what a nice place to go and enjoy yourselves. In Michigan we have a city called Holland that has an annual tulip festival and delft pottery is featured in many places. I like how the fireplace was accented and of course the addition of the delft tile on the patio. Looking forward to more photos about your time there.

I love this room, and I’m so happy you had a wonderful time in Napa! So close, yet so far away, I wish Napa was a little closer to us. The Inn has such a stellar reputation and this room shows their wonderful attention to detail. xo

Shirley, As always a great blog. I love Napa Valley and my sweet sister and her family live there. She works at the Marriott Spa in Napa. I think Calistoga is one of my favorite places on earth. Thanks for sharing all those great pics. It seemed you picked the right room, as it looks like something you would do at your house. Can’t wait for your future adventures and wish you safe travels.xoxo
What a beautiful room! So glad you had a great and well deserved trip!
What a gorgeous suite and Inn…it would be too tempting to stay inside by the fire and not leave! I agree with Rita… it looks like it would be a guest room in your home! I adore the addition of the tile in the brick of the patio.

What a stunning place! I just ran over to Google maps to see where this is because we are going to California in May. This isn’t on our path, darn it! So glad you had such a wonderful getaway though, Shirley. 🙂
Oh, mercy!!!!!! What a gorgeous respite! Your home is beautiful, but I’m sure it’s so nice to get away to other pretty, comfortable places to relax!!!
Shirley that is such a lovely hotel room. I noticed that the painting above the bench when you first walk in is of the room itself. It’s that kind of attention to details that makes this room special. I imagine you had a wonderful time and I too would have parked myself beside the fireplace.
