Well it happened again.
I stopped in my favorite shop . . .
should I tell you which one it was?!! . . . you probably already know!
Yes, Always Home in Durham, N.C.
On my way home from Trader Joe’s, I thought, “I think I will just stop in for a moment.”
I am always on the lookout for some pieces that may go with my new bed.
There was nothing there that would go with the bed;
however, there was something that called out to me!
No . . . not the bread boards or the pretty MacKenzie-Childs plate . . .
It is this beauty!
A MacKenzie Childs three tiered stand with bowls in the Courtly Check pattern.
The price? $58.00 for all four pieces . . . Score! . . . Happy Dance!
Angela, the sweet owner of the shop said that she thought of me
as soon as she placed it on display.
I believe she had just put it out right before I came in.
I so love the pretty details in the finial and “feet”.
The stand swivels, so you can arrange it many different ways.
My hubby is a happy camper as he loves eating fruit throughout the day
and this will serve as our mini fruit buffet!
I used to have multiple bowls of fruit on the vintage baker’s rack,
but that piece is currently in storage.
Since I placed the three tiered stand on the counter,
it caused the Domino Effect.
I thought, “hmmm, let’s try bringing out more of the Courtly Check pattern
that I have.” I posted about these pretties this past Christmas and you can see
it here: A Christmas Tablescape .
Previously, the counter was pretty neutral in color with a few pieces of ironstone.
Now it just pops with pattern!
In the Christmas Tablescape post, the teapot served as the centerpiece.
You may remember this:
Now it sits on the stove serving me well . . . boiling water for my tea!
I love the new look of this counter and I am sure it will go through
some tweaking here and there.
Now on to the GIVEAWAY!
I was contacted by the publisher of this book:
“Organizing For Your Lifestyle, Adaptable Inspirations from Socks to Suitcases”
by Jane Stoller.
She wanted me to review this book and give away a copy to one of my readers.
This book truly does organize your lifestyle from socks to suitcases!
I hate to admit that I have had this book for a while. I actually forgot about it
as MY HUBBY CONFISCATED IT, as he loves reading about organizational techniques!
I found it in one of his bedside drawers when I was putting something away.
I asked him for his opinion. He stated that he loved how it covered so many
aspects of organizing other than just organizing an area like a closet. Which it does!
There are so many great tips and tidbits. I am in the process of applying one now
that I will reveal soon. It involves guests!. . . and I LOVED her idea!
This book will organize you as it says from socks to suitcases/travel.
I want to give you an excerpt of something that made me giggle (in a good way!)
This excerpt was taken from the book of “How to be a Parisian” 2014, the authors wrote about what
a Parisian woman would NEVER have in her closet:
1. Three inch heels . . . they prefer 6 inch heels.
2. Ugg boots.
3. Logo shirts
4. Sweatpants . . . but leggings are O.K.
5. Skimpy tops (not to be worn on women over the age of 15)
6. Anything fake
7. Anything that makes you sweat ….. like nylon, pleather, vinyl
So if you want a Parisian wardrobe . . . throw away the above 🙂
In this book, I especially loved the tips of organizing yourself for travel.
So all you have to do is leave a comment on this post and you
will be entered to have the opportunity to win a copy of “Organizing for Your Lifestyle”
The giveaway ends at midnight on May 25th, 2018. Good luck!
Have a most beautiful day!!!
