Hello Dear Readers! It’s another great day as today is the 3rd Friday of the month
and that means it is Floral Friday!
Today I am joining my wonderful Floral Friday friends, Lidy, Mary and Pam
to present our floral creations incorporating fruit or veggies or both!
Their links and images are below so that you can visit them
and receive more amazing floral inspiration!
My inspiration for my flower arrangement today was Peonies.
I was thrilled to obtain some this late in the season and could not wait
to create an arrangement with them being the star.
Welcome to our Flowers, Fruit and Veggies – Floral Friday!
I was on the “call list” at Whole Foods should they have a delivery of Peonies.
They promised to call me if they came in and they certainly came through!
The very next day as I was at Trader Joe’s and they had a shipment of Peonies come in.
So I bought another bunch that were a darker pink to coordinate with the
lighter pink Peonies from Whole Foods.
I saw these pretty pink roses at Trader Joe’s
and knew they would coordinate very nicely with the Peonies.
I chose the strawberries for their color and texture
and bunches of radishes for their “out of the box” element.
I knew that the radishes would look wonderful at the base of the silver champagne bucket
cascading over the edges with those lovely roots.
I grouped strawberries at the base of the arrangement between the radishes
to ground the arrangement as you would a room.
Did I tell you how much I love the way this bunch of radishes
adds such fabulous shapes and color to the arrangement?!!
I never thought that a bunch of radishes could look so pretty!
And the same thing goes for the strawberries.
The darker pink Peonies were further along in their blooming process
than the lighter pink ones, which gave the arrangement several stages of their blooms.
Here is the full image of the Flowers, Fruit and Veggies arrangement.
I am so pleased of they way the arrangement turned out.
I was actually working on this arrangement while the Home Inspector was
conducting our home inspection for the due diligence of the sale.
He gave me the thumbs up on the arrangement as he was leaving!
So what is a flower, fruit and veggie centerpiece on a table
without some fruit to accompany the centerpiece?!
I found this beautiful fruit tart at my local grocery store.
It was serendipitous as it resembled a flower!
My hubby was anxiously waiting for me to finish the photo shoot
so he can have a slice of the fruit tart.
He knows the rules about partaking of something that is really pretty in the fridge.
He asks first if it is a prop!
So after this photo was taken, and a slice placed on a plate for his culinary
delight for the day, he was a happy camper. . . . and so was I
as this centerpiece of flowers, fruit and veggies truly made me smile.
Hope it made you smile too!!
And speaking of smiles. . . . for more smiles, hop on over
and visit my lovely, sweet and talented friends! The links are below the images.

Now, aren’t those floral arrangements/centerpieces amazingly beautiful?
And speaking of beautiful . . . I wish you all a most beautiful day and weekend!!!

Swoon Shirley! Your peony arrangement in your champagne bucket paired with the strawberries, radishes and roses is breathtaking! Sarah Bernhardt Double Peonies are my favorite and I love how the radishes cascade over the edge of the bucket and your varying shades of pink. Your tart looks delicious and perfect for breakfast this morning too. 😉 I stopped by Trader Joe’s last week and they had more peonies than I had ever seen for sale before. People were loaded down with their arms full! I wasn’t going home right away and had to make many stops on a 95 degree day and thought they’d be petal confetti by the time I got home from the heat in my car. Thanks so much for sharing this beauty this morning. It’s always a pleasure to join you for Floral Fridays. ♥
Shirley, I am in peony heaven with your champagne bucket full of their gorgeous blooms. You were most fortunate to find them at both stores. I would have never thought to mix in the radishes with the strawberries, it was a stroke of genius my friend! The tart looks delicious and I am so glad that Tom finally got to eat the prop. Our sweet hubbies are so accommodating. It is always a pleasure to join you for Floral Friday! I hope you get some rest! ❤️
Out of this world Shirley…just absolutely breathtaking! And in that beautiful silver bucket which Is also a treasure. You have truly outdone yourself especially having inspectors roaming around your house. Thank you for this morning joy! I have enjoyed Floral Friday’s so much and following all four of you.
Another very inspiring round of florals and it does make me smile, Shirley! Love the combo of the radishes & strawberries with the peonies- lucky timing along with the gorgeous tart! Makes my grocer look truly lame. We have no Whole Foods or TJ!
Absolutely breathtaking arrangement! This one is so magazine worthy. This has to be one of the most creative floral arrangements I have seen.
Swooooon Shirley, this arrangement is stunning! Those fat pink peonies, lovely roses, ripe red strawberries and radishes are gorgeous! I can’t believe you found that beautiful fruit tart at the grocery store…My family has learned to be patient too, no bites until after the photo shoot 🙂 Wonderful Floral Friday!
Girl, this is so beautiful! The flowers and the tart! I’ve always thought that radishes are a work of art in their humble way so it’s fun to see them included. We do have Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods but not close by. Jemma and I are planning a field trip soon. 🙂
What a beautiful arrangement! I love the radishes!
Love the creative idea of the radishes, Shirley! Such a cute and whimsical addition to a flower arrangement!
Beautiful, striking, stunning and much more, Shirley! That tart was serendidity! And your cute plates and napkins added just the right touch for your gorgeous fruit, flower and vegetable arrangement. I’ve never done flowers with fruit or vegetables. You have inspired me to give it a try.
I love the added strawberries and radishes. Yep, who knew a radish could be pretty!
That is the prettiest tart and looks yummy. Happy Friday!
This s so beautiful Shirley! Ofcourse I adore the peonies and roses, but the strawberries and radishes (!) add such a lovely and intriguing accent. I think we should all think about using more fruit and/or vegetables with our flowers, they are a match made in heaven as the Golden Age still life painters knew. Thank you for sharing Floral Friday with me, it is such a blessing to join our circle of flower loving friends each time. xo Lidy
How clever are you my friend!!!?? The addition of the radishes and strawberries is fabulous! The whole arrangement is gorgeous. I so enjoy floral fridays, so glad you are doing this. I always get tons of inspiration and I make sure I pin from everyone. Have a beautiful weekend. I am packing, as we leave Sun. for OBX!
This definitely made me smile this morning! Your arrangement with all of the shades of pinks and reds is just gorgeous! I agree the radishes make a very pretty touch to the arrangement. I adore Floral Fridays! You are all so talented!!!
Lovely Shirley….and the addition of radishes and strawberries is genius. The arrangement is beautiful and the tart is amazing too. What a find. I envy those of you who have a Trader Joes close by and a Whole Foods. The closest to me is 30 miles away through heavy traffic. Ugh!
Just swooning. Happy Friday. Have a wonderful weekend. Happy Father’s Day to Tom.
xoxo

So Pretty! I don’t think about using fruit and vegetables in a floral arrangement. I will now. Thanks!
Beautiful arrangement, Shirley! When I read radishes, I wasn’t sure I’d like that, but it was perfect! The champagne bucket is lovely. The double peonies are my absolute favorite flower! I always look forward to all your imaginative and beautiful posts.
Absolutely gorgeous, Shirley! Very unique and inspired! I appreciate all the work that you put into your beautiful arrangements and posts. And good for your husband for his nice manners!
I once tried to set my breakfast table for a photo op at Christmas time. I made a tree on the wall with decorative plates, and I set the table with lots of yummy goodies. I don’t remember what happened, but I had to leave the house for some reason and when I came home I discovered that Hubby had ruined my photo op by eating some of everything, including candies, fruitcake and all. Ha! He has a big sweet tooth.
That’s so funny….he KNEW not to touch so much as a CRUMB from that tart!!! So funny! The floral arrangement is GORGEOUS!!! I am going to try to mimic the look over the weekend if my body lets me. I adore peonies and roses…I’m so excited to every time I have occasion to use them!!! You made my day!
That was so whimsical to drape radishes with my favorite flower, the strawberries too are extraordinary for a stunning arrangement!
Oh that’s absolutely beautiful! What a brilliant idea to put in strawberries and radishes! This is gorgeous – I can see why your inspector approved, and husband couldn’t wait for the shoot to be done! 🙂 Thanks for sharing – I have lots of ideas now, and may try to copy this one outright! Take care and thanks again!
