We live in a very small town in Virginia, We have a Homecoming with music, carvnival and beauty pageants
Ending with a July 4th parade and fireworks. Our town has held this for 52 yrs. we love it all the people who live away come home.
It’ always opens with a prayer and ends with a prayer.

I love Independence Day. My brother has a big celebration at his house. He smokes ribs and grills burgers and brats. Everyone that comes brings a dish to share. After it gets dark my brothers puts on a HUGE fireworks show. My granddad, my Dad, and brother were all in the military. I am proud to be part of a family who has served their country.

I enjoy our community 4th of July parade, along with the festivities at our local park and fireworks, of course! In between all that we usually entertain friends and family with a cookout and swimming at our home. I like putting out my patriotic decor and tons of flags. It is something I look forward to every summer.

A few years ago, I sponsored a homeschool Independence Day Celebration. It was a fun day of special games and contest, such as watermelon eating contest, pot-luck foods with a special star spangled sugar cookie, along with swimming. My favorite part, however, was when we all read the pre-emble of the Constitution. Along with that, special visitors came to visit, (ok, they were people reading parts). Franklin, Adams, Revere and such, encouraged the crowd with points of history. This ended up being my favorite Patriotic Day Ever!

Thank you for such a lovely giveaway. I just love the Fourth of July. Every Fourth I have a party (sometimes BBQ, sometimes catered) and invite my family and friends. This year I chose to cater it in because we are not only celebrating the Fourth of July but we are also announcing that my son and daughter-in-law are expecting their first child!

My younger sister’s birthday is the Fourth of July.
We always had a swim party for her and a birthday cake that was decorated as a flag.
She always thought when she was younger that the fireworks were for her birthday.
Now her children think it is fabulous that their mother’s birthday is the 4th because everyone seems to be celebrating their mother.

Good morning! My favorite patriotic thing has always been the fireworks! We used to go to Joe’s cousins mountain place and the small town next to his had the most FABULOUS display! It lasted well over an hour and it was amazing! I wish we could still go there but we do see SOME fireworks each year. Your trree looks amazing and I will visit the others too!

We are a military family all around. My Dad, brother, niece, and nephew are all Army. My son is Air Force. My favorite military event is ALWAYS when they come home from deployment. It is so good to have them safe at home and everyone is so joyous!

My favorite 4th of July celebration was when I was about ten-years old and we went to visit my Aunt Elizabeth’s family in Dallas, Texas. She took us to the Cotton Bowl and they had one end of the stadium blocked off for the most fantastic fireworks display I had ever seen! This was in the early 60s, but this memory still makes me happy!

My favorite 4th of July was several years ago when I got brave enough to drive on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago to watch their fireworks over the lake. It was a crystal clear evening, not real hot and they looked beautiful.

The 4th of July is my favorite. When I was younger we would have family gathering on the 4th, everyone seemed healthy and happy, we would watch the parade, dance and eat good Louisiana cajun food. It was a joyous occassion that I will never forget. It’s now a tradition, parade and family gathering each year on the 4th of July.
